sometimes i think id rather be riding in the ocean heh... our lake gets really crowded on sunny summer days and all that calm water gets churned up into pits of hell-water. _________________ signatures are lame |

well it was on an old directional board, and HO i believe. with the sandal strap bindings. i got up. carved for a bit. then decided to start jumping TS, without knowing that i would end up being more comfortable jumping HS. tried to go w2w with a mute grab. got bucked forward, landed nose first. which made my face land nose first too. it hurt. but i got back up and kept crashing. good times. |

my first day it took me and my dad 9 tries for me to get up (a big part was that he didnt know how to drive for wakeboarding i think) because i would get up and just be not moving and fall. But after a little while I started doing some butterslides and surf carves w/hand touch and stuff. His boat doesnt make a wake so i went outside the wake and did a few jumps off waves from the other boats lol. Good times. _________________ - Rich |

hahaha my first day. i got up.. carved, rode around, thought i was the stuff... went out cut in hard.. poped about 2 feet into the air. made it halfway across the wake. landed with the nose buryed into the water... slaped my face into the water sooo hard.. and we were going like 33 mph... my dad was driving... he didnt know what he was doing. i ripped him a new one after that. i ended up with a concussion and a bloody nose... what a good day |

got up, fell. got up switch, fell harder. did this over and over for about 20 minutes. called it a day. i only got up switch because i wasn't sure how to control which way the board turns. but now i can ride switch almost as well as i can ride regular (which isn't that impressive really). i suck. _________________ "Hey man, I like that roll cage on your boat." |

I got up on the second try, not becoause i knew what i was doin, i just happened to do everything right by accident and luck, thought i had the whole wakeboarding thing whipped so i figured i'd try a jump, i did my first trick, the 90 degree ollie to faceplant. I fell so fast i didnt have time to close my eyes. _________________ If at first you dont succeed, maybe failure is more your style. |

| My firts time i got up on the first try and instantly cut out of the wake and cut back in as hard as i could heelside like i saw on tv and i launched and completly face planted. It didnt feel that good but i got back up and stupidly did the exact same thing thinking that it would be different this time but i just got a huge headache after that. |

My wife was driving our new boat, which she only drove once before, I got up first try!
I was psyched to say the least since I've heard so many people have trouble. I do snowboard and tend to have a knack for this stuff so that may be why it was easy for me.
Boarded quite a bit on Sun and Mon, never once didn't get up! For tricks, I did a butter slide, I was able to jump on to and off of the wake, and for a few seconds I slid around and rode switch...I've also *perfected* the face plant
I'm happy as hell and can't wait to go back out....once I can move my limbs again, everything from my toes to finger tips is so sore I can hardly move today!
For those having trouble getting up, just keep trying it's fun as hell once you get it! |

I think I'm pretty much the worst wakeboarder ever. I just started this year and my first three times out I never even got up. I was riding a kiteboard, not a wakeboard, with loops for bindings behind a Sea Doo PWC. I just got dragged around the water and yanked my arms out of my sockets and pulled my back. Didn't feel much like trying wakeboarding after that!
My wife really wanted to get into wakeboarding, so despite my better instincts I bought one for her and she got really good in like two weeks. So then I had to get one last week.
Got up for the first time last week and all I did was hold on and try not to fall. Went out for the second time yesterday and held on longer and tried not to fall, that's it. Still having a hell of a time just getting up, but I can stay up once I'm there. |

| so i got my board like 2 weeks ago and before i got a chance to give it a go, i went to wakestock with a buddy who won some tickets....it was a good experiance because i got to see how the pros do it up ...the problem with this was the the pros made everything look so easy....wit this in mind i got first pull went and carved for a bit then tried to switch feet ending up sidewayz face planting pretty hard and losing my shorts in the process...after a few more pulls i cut outside the wake with something spectacular in mind i charged the wake thinking i was going to do something crazy, instead stuffing the nose hard right into the wake leaving me dazed and confused with out a board on me feet......good time though, cant wait to get on the water again this weekend |

Got up on my first try, then was able to turn, but i was trying to turn like i was snowboarding. I had my left hand on the rope with my right hand hanging by my side. I tryed to jump on my second run of the day and took a huge fall...I was able to do little tiny jumps the second time (2nd day) I ever went. My first W2W was on my 6th day of wakeboarding--- i had gotten the cut down well but i still didn't really know how to pop so i was getting like 2 feet of air at most. _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |

I got up first try and stayed up. I snowboard so i had the balance down. I pretty much just stayed in the wake and got a little air. only went out for about 10 minutes so couldnt do anything really. _________________ 93 four winns

It took me about 6 times out before I even got up on the board... That's about 50-60 trys. I don't know what my problem was. Maybe it was mental. Maybe because I'm 6'8 and weigh 250 lbs. I don't know. When I finally got up, it took me about 7 or 8 falls before I could cross the right wake... haha. Now I can get up every time, and go back and forth over the wakes with no problem. I don't fall for "no reason" any more. I'm trying to get air... hopefully clear the wake before the cold weather comes.
I'm a very slow learner. |
