Finished and tested on Sunday. SOOOO much better than dealing with the old school pumps. Pumps are Simers from Farm and Fleet for $55 each. Switches, hoses and attachments were about $130 from Home Depot. Wiring, fuses, and connectors was about $40 from Radio Shack. Just did test runs with the side sacs on Sunday, next time out I'll time to see how long it takes to fill the fat seat and one side sac(which will be in the bow). _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? And the switches. Two DPDT switches, from Home Depot. The boat is an '89 Tristar 190 open bow. _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

They are rated at 10 gpm by the manufacturer if you are not pumping vertically. There's a chart here, Mine are the BW85P: http://www.simerpumps.com/pdf/pg_4_2004.pdf _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

It's 10 gpm if you're pumping water at the same level. Since you're pulling water from below the bottom of the boat and pumping up to the sacs, it's probably significantly lower. Add in the head loss from the hoses and you're probably down to 6 gpm. Would be interesting to hook the end of the hose up to a 5 gallon bucket and put a stopwatch on it... |

The pumps are only a few inches above the water line, so it's a matter of how much is lost due to friction and restriction. After the T at the raw water intake, the smallest point of flow in the system is at the pump. The total hose length on the port side is 10 feet. On the starboard side, there is a total of 20 feet, which is 8 to the pump, then two on one side of the T to the fat seat, and 10 on the other side of the T to the front sac. I'm sure there are losses, but I bet they still pump over 6 gpm. That's a good idea mantaray, I may bring a 5 gal bucket on the boat to see what the output is. _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

I did something similar with our '95 sunsetter, it's a little slower than if I had 3 throw over pumps, but it's worth the extra couple of minutes to not have to deal with the hose moving, the water spraying all over and just the hassle. Flip a switch, you're done.
If you ever need a 3rd in the Milwaukee area, I'm happy to ride any time. From Oconomowoc area, live downtown Milwaukee.
I'm happy to help out with boat stuff before/after and will always supply gas money.

Push down on the switch. That's the beauty of the system, the pumps are reversible. Up on the switch fills, down empties. _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

Yup.
Gave the system its furst full use tonight, worked great. I forgot to clock it, but it filled the fat seat and two side seats pretty dang quick. I estimate it was about 1900 lbs. _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

Nice system, I am looking at pumps for a new system I am installing and was curious about the simer pump you used. Which model was it and is it reversable or did you use 2?
Any info would be great. |

The pumps are BW85P's. They are the only 12v Simer utility pumps they had at Farm & Fleet, and they came with a water scoop thingy for removing water from floors down to 1/8". They are reversable, and I used two so fill and drain times would be reasonable. Very happy with the system, can't imagine going back to dealing with throwing a pump over the side. _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

Thx |
