Man, It sucks to get hooked on a sport that u can only do efvery so often.
I live about 1hr 15 min to the nearest body of water, and plus Im just a beginner.
-Ive only been twice but I love it.
-I think about it all the time, even though I suck
-I have no job, but all I can think abbout is buying my own boat and board
Im startin to think I can get addicted to just about anything, Boarding RUles though _________________ Finally off drugs |

No job? You're 26 years old.
The word for tomorrow is going to be job.

Man, I don't even like dogs...
That's the beauty of it. I grab-a-dog, and I, I choke him. And uh, uh, all day long, my foot up a dog's ass. Just bang, bang, bang, up his ass. _________________ http://www.airtimewatersports.com

chipsevila - You know, the sad thing is, there's going to be some people out there that just don't get your post which is a real shame. I for one greatly appreciate that response.
To lil' john - It definitely is an addicting sport. I'm sure most of the people on this forum spend a lot of their time thinking about riding. I know I do. Anyway, welcome to the club. |

buckshot, wkebrd3, word! Love that movie.
Yes, lil' john, it is a nutty addiction. All I can do is think about that one trick that bothers me. Then I sit all day on these god forsaken forums (while at work) and look for tips. It's the most addicted I've ever been to a sport.
However, I don't live 75 miles from my riding spot. I don't even live 7.5 miles away!! We fell into a great situation, and get to use a private lake that is less than 5 miles away from our house. And because of that we ride at least 4 times a week. _________________ http://www.airtimewatersports.com

man im jealous,
more than just the fun of the sport though, most everyone on this site seems to be cool and willing to helpanyone out as well as offer a ride to just about anyone, when i first went out I was kind of intimidated by riders that rode by kickin ass, but now Im just gonna givem the benfit of the doubt, who knows maybe I can get a pull _________________ Finally off drugs |

marcuskg, not trying to bash or be rude, but you will get more respect on the forums if you use proper grammar and spell word out... _________________ R.I.P. M. Legge

| I live an hour from the delta, but my dad would rather driver 2 and a half hours to the lake every weekend to stay there for two days. He says the delta is full of idiots, choppy, and too narrow for comfort. |

I presently reside in Los Angeles...If I want to ride, I could probably arrange a pull at Castaic, which happens to be an hour away with no traffic (note: the travel time easily doubles if there is traffic). I can also head an hour and a half south, stay at my girlfriends Beach house and go ride Lake Elsinore. I can also drive at least 3 hours south to hit lake san vicente. Sadly, it is summer now and the only way to get good water is for me to spend the night at the lake the night before so that I can be one of the first 100 boats on the water.
Note: it costs me at least $80 a day to ride what I consider locally (w/in a 3 hour drive)...typically a full tank of gas in my Jeep to get to and from, plus gas money, plus money for me to get on the water/park, plus snacks/drinks, plus gas money for the boat.
When money and time allows, I like to go to the Delta or the River, it costs me ALOT more money, but the better water is worth it.
Oh...and my g/f comes occasionally as well, which means I end up paying for her too.
Anyone have a free place to stay at/near the River or Delta?
On that note, I'm poor right now and need a paycheck. Does anyone else who doesn't own a boat put wakeboarding into their budget? 'Cause I just started my job and made my budget...I'm gonna be spending at least $300 a month on riding. |
