I tried surfing today. It was fun.

Question: How do you stay in the power zone? I would get the rope to slacken up, but I couldn't stay in the zone long enough to toss it.

Is this just something that takes a while to get used to?

Sorry if the question sounds dumb, but I was hoping to get some info on foot placement, how your weight should be as in more forward or back, etc.

I would appreciate any tips.
Thanks

I weight 150 and ride a large Landlock, So I keep my back foot at the back tip of the board and then my front foot just in front of the middle. But for some bigger guys I ride with, they move their feet more centered up on the board.

Once you get into the "Sweet spot" you'll want to switch back and forth between you weight placement to move around. If you want to move closer into the boat/curl then you need to lean forward, but If you get too close, stomp back quickly on your back foot and It will slow you down and move you back. To stay in the middle you need to move your front foot back and forth, in and out, mainly known as "Pumping" your feet.

It takes most people a couple of pulls to be able to get the whole concept and physically do It, you should be getting it fine in no time.

It's a matterof shifting your weight from one foot to the other. Lean over your front foot to gain speed / move closer to the boat, shift weight to the back foot to back off. After you've accomplished this you can use the wake itself by moving up and down on the wake. As far as foot placement, I center mine on the board a comfy distance apart. One tip I read is to stand closer to the wake side of the board, this will keep the board turning towards the wake. Good Luck!

Oh yeah' almost forgot. If you're having trouble keeping up with the boat try slowing down 1 or 2 mph.

Sometimes it helps to put more weight on the wave side rail. Also smaller fins make the board a little faster.
