Just purchase the Double Barrels for the Monster Tower. Where do I send the ground wire? Back to the battery? The amp location is close to the stereo..can I use the same ground as the head unit? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ground the Amp on the Negative post of your battery.

Don't use the same ground as the stereo as it won't be able to support the load.

depends on amp and battery.

Ideally your alternator should be able to support the load.

i.e if your amp is throwing out 500 watts it will be roughly using 41 amps.

if you have a 60 amp alternaotr and a newish battery then you are totally fine. I wouldn't use the stereo for long periods with the engine off though.

I've got a brand new battery (2005 boat) and a Kicker 700.5 rated at 900rms power. I'm pushing 4 6.5's, 2 6.5 tower speakers, and a 12" sub off the amp so it is under a decent load. I can get about 4 hrs of play time with the engine off before my battery gets to the danger point.

bkw4287, 700RMS power Wink
4 x 75rms + 1 400rms sub section

Its the 4 channels that munch the power.. your sub section is MOSFET i believe (Class D) so is pretty efficient.

Yeah factory specs say 700rms, but I got a birth sheet with my amp that had it rated at 900 rms. Thats why I said 900.

To be exact I'm running everything at 2ohm so my factory specs are
4x85 and 1x420 rms mono.
