hey i wanted some advice

i've got a couple of pretty bad knees. my patellas dislocate because of the way my legs are put together. (singing - the ankle boan's connected to the calf bone!, sorry) where was i, anyway, so yeah, i've dislocated both of my knee-caps several times. it's wicked pain. it happens when i put too much weight accross the center of gravity over the knee. imagine getting into your car when some a-hole has parked way to close and you put all your weight on your first leg you can get in the car, that will almost do it. i've done it playing soccer and basketball and even at a mud honey concert. :p i really have to have my knees rebuilt, but i'm waiting for some bionic man sh_t. my question is how risky is wakeboarding? i've downhill ski'd for years and never had a problem, but you're facing foward. i worry about taking a header and tweaking my knees. how forgiving is it? does it just depend on how fast you go? can someone advise? tia billy

I don't think wakeboarding is tough on your knees at all, most of the pressuer I feel is at the hips and upper thighs.

I don't agree with that. I have dislocated both my knees a couple of times. I would buy a pretty good knee brace.

Wear knee braces and do not place your binding in a wide stance. The wider your stance the harder it is on the knees IMO.

the pressure really is on your thighs. the reason for so many knee injuries in wakeboarding is because of landings. i have bad knees(25+ yrs of basketball) and i use a couple of neoprene braces just as a precaution
