Got tired of the cold wind in the winter and didnt want to spend much...so I did my own. 3/4" U channel from hardware store, 1" felt fabric, 10 stainless screws. Went to glass shop w/ template and they cut out shape. Saved about $100 over buying from boat dealer.

Nice install. Very clean. I wonder if Plexiglas might have been better though. Possibly cheaper

it is plexi. regular glass in that slide in location would shatter. When not in use, my wife made a padded case out of flannel material for it. works great! I found the specs and info on the malibu web site. Entire project cost $53

Vision, what it does is when its butt cold out I slide the plexi in the track (much like a house window) and close the windshield. That blocks out the cold coming into the the back of the boat, then the girls can remove (oh wait, thats another website)...... My buddys Malibu came factory with one, thats where I got the idea to make my own.

WHAT????, do the malibus come with a removeable one like that or a folding door? We have something like that on our boat but it is a fold away door, and it is great for when it is still cold out. Good job with yours!

My friend has on 01 vlx and it came with it. Pretty much the same setup. His has a bit cleaner job on the plexi itself.
