Just wanted to try to save the snowboarding forum before summer completely kills it. I was just generally wondering who will be riding at all this summer, if anyone is going to any camps... I dunno, anything. I'm sure I will get up to Hood a couple times, but it's pretty much just surfing and wakeboarding now.

i cant afford going to any camps although windells or HCSC would be so sick. im probably going to hit up a few summer handrail sessions. maybe even make a trip out to CO in june or july to Abasin for some riding haha.

cezza, be sure to get some videos and pics up to keep us ocupied man

I was watching the discovery channel and saw some guy's snowboarding down sand dunes in S. Africa. It looked pretty fun... So - I thought I might pick up a used board cheap and give it a shot this summer. Anyone here ever tried it?

NVChickadee, a cheaped used snowboard probably wouldnt work at all. they have sandboards you can buy but i dont think a snowboard would slide.

Elevation, Sandboards... Hmmm, sounds like more sports equipment I don't want to pay for...

Hehehehe, I'll just have my kid try it first w/ the snowboard since she already has one that she's outgrown, see what happens then make a decision. Twisted Evil

We made our own sandboards out of like 2x10 decking and some fake granite countertop stuff. They're sick, just put a bunch of turtle wax on the counter stuff and they move. You can slash little turns, it feels sort of like surfing except you have almost no edge control. Try it, it's shradical...
