Hey kdawg,

That's a definite maybe....you prolly ought to figure out how thick the glass is. Do you have the tower yet, if so, figure out where its going to be mounted and drill a pilot hole. Worst case, you'll add more layers of glass under the rail/gunwhale or a BIG backing plate to spread the load. You MAY be able to search the forum and find a similar Bayliner install....

Do a search on this sight. There are two threads in particular that involve putting towers on bayliner boats. One was a custom tower and I believe the other had the same question that you had.

The custom tower the person put like a 6 x 8 inch flat piece of metal on the inside of the fiberglass to distribute the weight more.

Once you read the threads let us know what you decide or if you still have questions.

thanks guys. this site has sthe coolest most knowledgeable people. then again it also has the biggest meatheads. anyway i havent decided on a tower yet. probably gonna be a bigair h20. i like the way it swoops anyway i found a joystick tower pretty affordable but cant seem to get any feedback. i love the monster tower and the owner is always on this website. seems to be a very very nice guy. it just doesnt look right on a little 17.5 footer. i plan on ordering one next week( if i can make up my mind) i will let u guys know how it works out. thanks again for the help

Ok I found one thread of the custom tower on a bayliner. Not sure if it's anywhere close to the one you are looking at.
