I do not know the lingo for this trick, but here is what I am trying to do:

Goofy foot, left side of the wake. I pull the rope to my left side and grab the handle with my right hand behind my back. I charge the wake (healside edge) get enough air, but 4 out of 5 times I rotate around and land on my head (ouch) I have made it around a couple of times and landed on the board but I don't know what I am doing differently. (haven't been able to hang on either) So help me out guys - obviously I am a beginner, but I can ride switch and do 180's off the wake. Thanks.

are you trying to do a wrapped HS 360? Not sure how you're ending up on your head if you are. Can't really help you out if we don't know what you're trying to do.

Like I mentioned, I do not know the lingo - but it sounds like a hs wrapped 360. I pop the wake going from left to right, let go with my left hand (that is hanging on to the T-Grip) spin around and usually land on my head. I do not know how else to describe it - help me out!

oh yah its a wrapped FS HS 360, but you are going off axis and landing on your head., try it without the wrap and passing the handle behind your back.

Ar230HO,
Take the jump up before you try to spin it. Don't spin it early off the wake... That will throw you off axis.
Give a little pull with your left hand once you are in the air, and lead the spin with your hips (Don't huck your shoulders around to spin you... That is the other thing that will throw you off axis), and let the rope unwind you once you are in the air. Keep your head up and stand tall with your chest out and look at the horizon as you rotate.
Good luck.

You are throwing it too early. Make sure you wait till you are in the air (you can even wait till the peak of the jump) THEN let go with your left hande to initiate the spin. The will keep you off you head.

Thanks for the tips guys - that makes a lot of sense. I know my AR230 is not a tournament boat, but I get a nice wake with a little ballast in the rear.
