| I am wondering how hard the landing is on the premier. I can't demo and the Malibu dealer(vlx) only sells hyperlite. I want to go high and have an aggressive board but land semi good. |

aggressive is not an accurate adjective for the premier. more like slow and mellow.

If you want to get agressive get the parks, but I have the premier shape and I love it. I took the middle fin off and its quite loose but comfortable. I love that shape and it is perfect for my style of riding. But I wouldn't consider it an agressive board. Agressive is the Parks. _________________ Charge It

I think the Premier is an aggressive board. The landing is mellow and smooth. One word of advice if you get one - be sure not to void the warranty. The premier will eventually break right behind the rear boot if you ride it hard. HP is great about replacing broken boards, as long as the warranty is valid.
The board is already pretty loose with the middle fin in, but take off and it breaks loose much easier.

man, the premier rocks. i thought it was such a solid board when i demo'd it. edges well and pops nicely, smooooth. my buddy just bought the brand new 136 premier. but i wouldnt call it super agressive. by the way, xcheese, is your malibu dealer by any chance Craig? at Performance? just wondering. good luck with your board. _________________ Strike another match, gonna start a new!! |

What would void the warranty? Slider?

I've had them with hairline fractures and full-blown splintering cracks. 3 behind the rear boot, one in the middle - those were all on DNA's previous to 04. I haven't had any problems with my 04 DNA 141 yet, but when I do, I'm sure HL will take care of me, as usual.
HL specifically mentions sliders as an act that will void the warranty on your board.

My '04 Bio 141 Premier cracked the length of the board about where the molded in fins are. My buddy's DNA has stringers there. I'm hoping I will get that warrantied this weekend in Reno.
As for the board, I almost liked the '03 shape better. The new shape feels like a tank, is less loose on the water, and is not as consistent. That being said, when I'm riding well on the new shape, it pops more.
Peace. |

The 04 has some pretty drastic changes compared to the 03. I think the 03 was a little tighter feeling, and the 04 took some getting used to, but now I love it.
