Question about the rope

I've read alot of post where some one has mentioned something about the position of the rope on a trick. Most things i have read say keep the rope down by your hip. Does this apply to a NON TOWERED boat or any boat for that matter.

At your waist....you dont want any slack or else boat will jerk you and knock you off axis and probably buck you

its a good idea to keep it at ur waist on all boats, just a good habit to get into.
