|
|
Hey everyone,
I was talking to some buds the other night and was telling them about this X star i'd seen on here a while ago.. I ran a search but couldn't find it.
Some of you may remember it, it was for a dealer meeting or something and had all barbed wire down the side and had been airbrushed blue. It was totally loaded iwth every MC by design product and I think pretty much everyone agreed it looked 'different'.
Not sure it was my cup of tea... OK i lie it looked like some kind of rice mobile but still i want to pull through and show them what i was talking about..
Any one save a shot of it that they can upload?
Thanks

Rheyzar, Unavoidable, I bet his panties get wet anytime he hears MC or X-star, let alone Pimped and X-star.

x_star05, so I see you have ditched the backhoe in lieu of a D-9.
When you are finished, can we fill the hole with water and make it a private lake?

x_star05, I have my dream boat so am not jealous, personally if thats the boat you want then thats fair enough.. we all enjoy different tastes.
But Just FYI that looks like the boat i was talking about.. but wasn't there another with bones on the side? same kind of style but the X was formed with 2 overlapping bones.. bit like a pirate ship?....

I was not really referring to the EVERYONE as being jealous, BUT there are a few jealous people on this board….
To answer your question about the X-Star with the bones as the X does exist. I believe it was sold at the L.A./San Diego Boat Show. Here are some pictures of the boat...

Am I the only one who cracks up laughing every time I see one of these "custom" MC's?
Keep thinking that you're the envy of all of us though...

Jealous?
Well...let me put it this way:
Mastercraft is known as one of the very finest ski/wake boat manufacturers anywhere. They make the boat which had, to this day, the best wakeboarding wake I have ever been on (I have not yet ridden on my SAN BTW ). But the new X-Star is not yet known as the wakeboarders dream boat. And an X-Star with an arguably garish graphic design may serve as a hinderance toward that end. You might find that many wakeboarders are not in fact as enthusiastic about the boat quite yet.
So, don't necessarily call people jealous. That new X-Star hull has yet to earn its stripes. We can be jealous of you once that process is complete.

Don't hold your breath for that to happen.
Ridden it plenty and there are several boats in front of it on my preferred list, including your SAN. There are plenty of others that share my sentiments on this rig.
In sum:
X-Star = high bling, medium wake.

x_star05, if I was given a choice of the X-Star or the X2 both free of cost to me I would take the X2. A better wake with less weight, doesn't take waves over the bow as easily, better gas economy, and suitable seating for my needs.

someone make a thread on custom boat graphics. i actually think it would be interesting to see what people do with their boats and try to guess how much money they put into it.

Not to kill that idea...
But by about 1,000,000,000 miles the coolest custom graphic I have ever seen is Chriss Wynn's camoflage motif Malibu Wakesetter from the Dallas, Texas area. Just AWESOME and for all intents and purposes, a perfect aftermarket skin for their boat.
Once my SAN is paid off dont be suprised to see a winter/urban camoflage SAN trolling around the waters of New England

Yes! A skin! How logical...it protects the boat.
These "custom" X-Stars are painted on the outer side of the gel coat, with only a thin clearcoat over the $30k paint job. Just wait a few weeks until homeboy smacks it into a dock.

So much respect to Chris Wynn, such a sick boat, and suck a sick rider to go with It. The guy always pimps out his boats and doesn't spend as much as others would on it. The guy had a hot-tub in his previous boat, which was sick, and great ballast. Whats good about his wrap is that whenever he gets sick of it, peel it off and do another.

Does the skin wrap behind the vinyl backing on the deck? Is it a 2-piece deck/hull setup, or do you install the rub rail over the skin?
I've always liked the idea of a skin, being the super anal, overprotective, Meguire's and 303 obsessive person I am.

Yep, that's it. I'd like to talk to that dude about it.
Not to bite off his sht, but I could definetly do a black, white, grey 'winter' camo on my 21V.

The other thing about Chris is that absolutely throws down on a board and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
From the story I'm told he was a pro-level rider several years ago until he did a huge hoochie and blew his knee up. We used to always see his old boat on a local Dallas lake with the hot tub just chillin' and I made a snide remark about it one day and was told to "Shut the Hell Up" that he could ride like nobody else.
He came out 2 years ago and rode in our Dallaswakeboarding.com tourney and threw the largest hoochie I've ever seen right out of the box.
The camo skin is def unique.

Anyone have any information that in 06 MC will be offering a complete one off package for only a 1% price premium. I thought I read it in a magazine but I can't seem to locate it.
Custom trailer, gelcoat, graphic design, your choice of tower speakers, amps, etc.
