The carpet will help you out with balance. However, as with every skatebaording trick it's just practice, practice, and practice. Sorry thats all the advice I can offer. Maybe Jester will post on this thread, I'm sure he has a good way to practice them. _________________ "You ain't drunker'n me"

all you can do is practice. eventually youll find that spot where you dont really have to do much to stay balanced. the only thing ive found is that you need to use yor hips. move them forward and backward to stay centered. |

nawteak pretty much nailed it. Practice. It does help to go faster, I can hold manuals way longer when I'm moving fast than when I move slow or try stationary (I don't think I can even do stationary manuals). |

kinda like jester said, they're a lot easier when going fast. when getting into them don't be hesitant.... kick down pretty generously. i don't know about the carpet thing............. why practice them standing still on carpet if you could just do them while moving on cement? _________________

there is something you can do to help you balance while manualling.
roll your front foot over and back to maintain your balance. when you feel lik your gonna put the front wheels down roll your ankle back a bit and it should either bring you back or keep you going for a short time longer. _________________ www.flukdfilms.cjb.net

I have them a lot better now, still a bit inconsistent but better than the use to be. What has been working for me is i just do my normal run for a little bit, then i take a good 10 minutes just on manuals, and i try to go from one point to another. Once i get it, i just go back to my normal skating again. I still suck at them ha, but im getting better. |
