Hey everyone i was just wondering what your thoughts were on a 2002 CWB Lucky 45 wakeskate. If any of you have ridden it and have any likes or dislikes I'd like to hear what they are. Thanks...

CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP no stiffness to it, so you lose alot of pop for ollies. It is really flexalbe. I rode a 2001 and hated it, the continuous rocker is horrable. I would go with a Cassette 43 or a Scape 112. Please don't buy that piece of crap you will waste your money

I thought it was OK, not too bad at all. The price I saw was around 79 brand new, which was a little cheaper than the 99 for my cassette. I stuck with cassette though and have been happy with it ever since. I'm not too sure about the 45 though, seems damn big to me. I'm 180 and ride a 43, I can't see myself ridding anything bigger than that.

take it easy todd. geez just cause you hated it doesn't mean you should go around sayin don't waste your money. not everyone wants to pay out their ass for a wakeskate. plus not everyone is the same as you so just chill. it's the same as a skateboard. different people like dif stuff

The only , ONLY wakeskate I have ever not liked riding was the Lucky. My homemade skates are better that the CWB ones. Core, Hyperlite, Cassette all have leaps and bounds over CWB. CRAP

this last summer i rode with a Cassette 43 flat, and i went out on a friends boat and i forgot my skate so i used his CWB and my thoughts..........i liked the cassette better, i wouldn't say it was a bad wakeskate, its just i wasn't used to it. the fins on it are a little bigger and therefor it doesn't have quite as loose as of a feel. the grip tape seemed to be good though. it was my first time using girp and i liked it. now i have my new Horrell and will get to use grip tape everytime!

well i wanted to go with a cassette, but couldnt find one in my price range...thats why I was asking about the Lucky. I ended up finding a cassette for the same price as the lucky so Im probably going to go with the cassette...if any of the crap makes sense. Neutral

besides the 7 to 1 in the poll doesnt really bode well for the lucky....so cassette it is. Thanks everyone!

heydave,
i know what you mean, i can't stand the fins for the lucky. thats why i ride it finless. sometimes i'll throw the fins on to try to get the feel for something..like last year near the end i was trying to get the feel for an indy glide to blind so i tried it on the skate. other than that i don't know i just like this skate. personal preference i guess. it's like skateboarding, i always rode elements cause i liked their shape. some people hate the shape. it's all personal preference. and i dont have much money so shellin out all the extra money for a cassette wasn't justified for me.
peace

yeah, i love my element but some of my friends advise me not to get one when i was looking for a new board. but i got it anyway and have been happy. but in a nut shell it is all about personal pref. thats why there are getting to be more and more wakeskate companys and each a design of its own.

The lucky is a great starter board because it is grippy and forgiving. It doesn't ollie as good as the other decks but then again it's half the cost.

I learned some basic tricks on that board before moving on to the Kampus.
