I have a pair '04 Skylon Deafcon II's, one of which has a bit of trouble. When fully connected (through the can), the tweeter works fine, but the other speaker does not. But with the other speaker connected directly to the speaker wire (not through the can) it works fine, Trouble appears to be in the cross-over in the can? Anyone else experience this or have any ideas? _________________ Don't take life too serious, you will never escape it alive anyway! - Author Unknown |

Definatly sounds like a faulty crossover.
These things are very simply made with a capacitor in series and a coil to ground for the tweeter and a coil in series and a cap to ground for the woofer. Some are even more simple than this. If the coil gets disconnected or the C goes short circuit, the woofer wont work.
Open your can and take the crossover out. You'll probably find a bad solder joint. _________________ Wakeboarding is so Kool in Ireland! |

Thanks, and actually you were right on the money. I ended up sending it back to Skylon for warranty. _________________ Don't take life too serious, you will never escape it alive anyway! - Author Unknown |
