Well, for those that are interested, I've finally put some borrowed money where my mouth is and bought a boat Smile

She is a 2001 Super Sport Nautique. This boat shows new. I'll be the second owner - the original loaded it with many of the toys one could want on a Super Air; flight control tower, perfect pass, heater, GT-40 310hp power with 54 hours on it, 2 sets of board racks, bow cover, full cover, bimini, tunable rudder, cd stereo system, push button start . Comes with a trailer with like 10 miles on it. It does not have a ballast system, thus I'll be installing one. I went and looked at this boat a few weekends ago and the thing is flawless. I had another scenario pending that required this scenario to go into a 10 day holding pattern, but once that fell through I plunked my 15% down and insured the boat immediately.

I'm pretty psyched about it and definitely could not have done my research if it weren't for the help I was able to get here from people like Professor Lcap, JZWake, E.J. and other great contributors. Now I can bug all of you with qusetions that dont start with "Super Air Purchase Scenario XYZ..."

Now they'll start with "I broke my Super Sport blah blah blah"

Smile

Anyway, thanks. I pick it up Friday! Some photos are at the link below but the better ones should come Saturday morning...

Erik Jernberg,

Very nice! New house, new boat, what's next? Ms. Jernberg must have some ideas now that your all settled!

Congratulations again on the boat and the house. Will it be de-winterized and ready for you to do some ice breaking this weekend?

Awesome Erik, everyone seems to be getting their boats. Hopefully mine wont take too long to show up.

'Tis a special time when one takes delivery of a boat.

Congrats on the new boat Erik. It looks like you found a beauty and with only 54 hrs. it is basically still brand new. Make sure to post some pics of the ride and wake when you get it out on the water later this spring. I have my eye on that same boat but I will have to wait a year or two more before I can make that purchase.

Good looking boat! I bet you are looking forward to summer now! I think it is better it didn't come with a ballast system. The 2001's didn't have great stock systems IMO and this way with sacks you can use your space more efficiently... plus add more weight!

I don't think he'll find a better deal anytime soon...a practically brand new Super Air (minus the ballast) for under $30K (don't know the negotiated price...just the asking price). Congratulations, Erik!

...it had to be a 2001, didn't it? Wink

It sure had to be a 2001!
I am looking forward to spending way too much time rubbing that boat with a terry cloth. Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Looks good, let the summer begin.

Not knowing that much about CC, what's the difference between the Super air and the Super sport?

Bambamski, graphics, a tower and ballast tanks. (even though I have heard of SAN's coming from the factory ballast-less)

Congrats Erik, make us proud!

I just gotta say though, 54 hours in 4 years (maybe 3 if it was bought late '01). Sweet for guys like Erik who get a smokin' deal, but why waste the resources. I mean, this beautifully crafted machinery is designed to provided us with a great sense of pleasure and the owner just let it sit. To each his own, but at least she is in the hands of someone who truely appreciates everything she can do. Put her to work. Very Happy

Erik, looks super clean, enjoy it man.

My only suggestion: remove the "Super Sport" decal - if in fact it is a decal.

What are your thoughts for ballast?

Are you going with tanks or bags? I was looking in a locker of a super sport and i guess it would be pretty impossible to get a tank in without removing bits of floor then re fitting. so i'm guessing a bag up front?

Any thoghts yet on total weight? or are you just going to cram in as much as possible!?

Looks like a great boat, congrats. Also, I really am fond of the swoop N for what its worth. They were out when i was getting into nautiques and i always thought they looked pretty fly.

Erik,

Looks like a winner, enjoy the boat.. I personaly find the swoop N the best graphics all times for a Nautique. But I would replace the SuperSport decal with the Super Air / Nautique decal... But it's al personal.

Brit Rider, I don't think it's possible to put a hard tank in the front skilocker due the smaller dimensions of a 2001 locker. In the back it would be no problem. But I think bags would be the easiest.

Erik, I like it!
