I have some good pictures, courtesy of Scott A, and am thinking about trying to build one...like so many others. I have never seen one run though. When you are set to ride, does the motor have to be started? What about when the run is over...do you have to shut it down before the handle gets to the spool? I see there is a centrifugal clutch, so is there a throtle like a gocart to spool it up and when throtling down it stops coiling the rope?

A guy named Ken (Kento) on here and wakeskating.com owns a winch company. Definately shoot him a PM and get yourself some quality info. He's out of Santa Barbara, CA.
