ok i went to a skating site and it said when u ollie the worst thing u can do is slap the tail, i went to another site and it said u have to slap the tail all the friggin sk8 sites contradict eachother it is pissing me off...anyway i learnt 2 ollie wothout slapping the tail and i can ollie about 10cm.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PROPER WAY IS!!!! _________________ i love lamp. Crikey |

If the tail doesn't slap it's not an ollie. I have a hard time believing you can get the board off the ground at all without tapping the tail. |

Jester, i can get the board up with out slapping but not very high.wake_quake, The proper way is to slap the tale. |

How? The ollie is pretty much controlled by the see saw motion, if you slap the tail how do you get the board vertical so you can drag your foot? |

Jester, with slapping its normal with out its like a manula with jumping and then slideing ur foot lifting ur back and leveling it out you cant get high at all i use it when im goin fast up a little bump some times |

wake_quake, all personal preference for me i got my heels down first and kicks came soon after. what helped me was a dekc with no wheels or tucks and just get the kicking motion. good luck oh and do a search on here for more advice. |

I learned kickflips first & I think the majority of skaters do. There's a few who learn heelflips first though, just depends. |
