|
|
| Does anyone know what the individual weight capacities are of the factory Tige ballast tanks? I am doing my own system and was going to make a hard cover for the rear sacs (so I can store stuff on top of them) but the factory tanks are nice and reasonable, just want to make sure they hold enough weight. Thanks

| Sorry, 24v, which I believe should be the same for all the "v" models

250 in each corner. its the same for the 22v and 24v. the problem is that theyre rigid compartments and you lose storage space.

We ordered the factory ballast in our 22v (Comes Next Thursday ) and was wondering, does It take up as much space as everyone says? And I'm talking about alot of space, as In most of the back storage pockets...?

I think you lose the storage under the seats, and about that level in the rear storage bins. Not sure about the front storage compartments... you might want to think about replacing the tanks w/ sacks.
what colors did ya get?

I saw them this past weekend, the fronts pretty much eliminate the front storage so I am going to use sacs there, but for the rear I was going to build hard covers for the sacs anyway so that I could store stuff on top of the tanks.
DavidHoff, That would sound about right, the fronts did look smaller than the rears.
Ruune, I don't know how accessable your boat is but if you could measure the dimensions I can calculate volume and weight here at the office.
Thanks everyone!

holiday13, I'm actually using sacks, but the boat is about 45 mins away and I'm at work too!

| Always worth a shot, I am just trying to decide to either stay with the sacs or get the hard tanks right from Tige, my dealer got me a price and they are very reasonable. I figure for wake surfing if I need more rear weight I can put sacs on the rear floor.

| Tige's factory 4 tank ballast is 850 lbs. Not sure how it is divided up.

We had the factory ballast in our 22V and removed the front tanks to get the extra storage back since the front tanks are much smaller than the rear tanks, then ran lead in the very front compartment at about 300 lbs. With the rear hard tanks you can still get two boards on the rear compartment of a 22V. The factory plumbing is very good and easy to get to (a pump can die).
A lot of the Tige dealers are going with the Rival system which is all sacs but in the same locations as the factory setup. Looks like a great system but I got used to the rear hard tanks so we went factory on our 24V. I hear www.barefootinternational.com has custom sac's for the 24V bow compartments so I'm hoping to go that way and keep the main front compartments for storage.
I'm sure we'll still find a good home for the lead

| I got measurements on the tanks and was able to calculate volume/weight. The rear tanks are 312 pound each capacity and the fronts are 125, which IMO take up more space than they are worth like montstower said. Thanks for all the feedback.
