i know very well what they look like as a spectator but i tried one today and i did some weird variation of a tantrum and stuck it but i'm confused.
When i left the water i know that the nose of my board went behind mee and i came around and i landed regular. So was that like a overhead bs 3 without a tantrum or what. it did'nt feel like a regular tantrum and my body was horizontal. But it seemed to easy to be a whirly.
if anybody understands what i'm saying please help. My driver didn't catch it.

Sometimes when I try to get a ton of pop on a tantrum, I end up going through the wake with a little too much edge. This causes my body to twist backwards and then back again before I land. It feels and looks like something spectacular but is truly just an ugly tantrum. Could that be what it is?

Yeah i was thinking this too but i've done plenty of ugly tantrums and you have to bring the front of the board back like you were spinning frontside i came around like i was spinning backside. sorry this is probably too confusing.
It kinda seems like the only difference between a whirly and an ugly stetched out tantrum is wether or not the rope handle crosses your shoulders and your back closes to the boat???
Still confused! Help

From what your saying, it sounds like your doing an ugly whirlybird. Maybe if you do it again and catch it on video?

If you can do them on the tramp then it should feel the same. Just tuck that hand right by your head!
