I never believed in the trampoline backroll. On a wake backroll you leave the wake at an angle like \ , you cant really simulate that rotation on a trampoline from jumping straight up. On top of that, the release of the wake is what throws you into the rotation- there is zero hucking involved.

But anyways, just flip it whatever direction you are trying to go. Jump straight up and pin your ear to your lead shoulder and let your body follow. And dont break your neck.

When you jump, don't let you feet go out behind you, make them come up and above you. Also, use a rope, and keep it tight and in close and it will sort of keep the flip in control.

I have to agree with Jim M because you can't really learn backrolls on the trampoline IMO, because you have no wake to initate the rotation. The best way would be to learn it behind the boat.

But if you are going to do it on the trampoline, it is like a cartwheel rotation. From the front it kind of looks like your doing a front flip, that is if you do it right. Atleast thats how it looks for me.

You definitly cant make a backroll on a tramp. You can do flips, raleys, tantrums, whirlybirds...

...but you CAN do a roll 2 revert...just hold onto it with ONLY your back hand and do a backroll rotation and you can do the roll 2 revert. i do it a lot when i am out there.

not rotating on a horizontzal axis. think of a gymnastic high bar that people in tights swing around on. a really sadistic person has impaled you through your bellybutton and spins you like a cartwheel. thats on axis. the smae sadistic person tilst the highbar so it's on a 45 degree slope. thats off axis.

tramp backrolls aren't very accurate but help for spotting landings. You have to huck them but it helped me spot the landing over my shoulder when I was trying to get them consistant on the water.

Same with me, the takeoff is completely different, but the tramp helped me correct my rotation on the water.

HS Back rolls and HS front flips are just cartwheels. The load/release of the board is what throws your feet back and give you that separation between your hands and the board. Raley's are the same manuver just without the roll. So, you can do these on a trampoline to get the rotation dialed, but you will come off the wake a little differently just by the nature of the trick and subsequent pop off the wake.
