Hi Guys

I'm building a funbox for our my local cable here in South Africa. Below are some pics of what I have in mind. I still have to add the side protection in under the rails to make it a bit safer but you get a pretty good idea what I'm looking at building. It will be a steel structure with poly prop flat land and kicker , rails will be polly prop rods I can't get TREX decking here and flotation 220L poly prop drums. Any crit will be welcomed.

Thanks LFR

It was easy I used a program called sketchup www.sketchup.com to desgin in super easy to use, I'm pretty good art but not that good Smile . One thing I wan't to change is the width of the sliders they are about 100mm now I think they need to be at least 200mm and I'm going to have a hard look for some type of TREX alternative instead of the Polyprop rods.

Thanks Wakeboarder44, its a very ruff mock up of what I want it to look like I didn't go into that much detail. I'm going to anchor it at each corner and I also need to add one or two drums under the kicker part for some flotation. I also forgot to say that I will be adding some counter sunk lighting on the flat land section lighting up the rails and deck Smile , the big rail end kicker will also be extended out some more. Dam I don't know if I want to be the first hit this thing a few beers later maybe Smile I'm looking at starting on it next week while I've got some time on my hands I will be posting a detailed progress report for the project.

Na they will be boxed in so no gaps to break boards/legs in Smile , I was wondering though and maybe you guys can help me out here... do you think I would need a sloped sides (cow catchers) on the rails at all ? the height of the slider ain't that high.

I don't think you would need slopes on the sides, if i understand what you mean. I think it would suck to faceplant into the sloped sides rather than the water you would normally land in. Some sort of padding might help though.

So far that thing looks sick, i like the pics, mad props so far. I just recently finished building something similar to your design, however I built mine out of wood cause i don't know to weld or where to get it, but metal is definately more durable and more rigid. The only thing i can suggest is more bracing underneath the poly propelyne (spelling ???) thats what i used and it is some what flimsy. and don't worry about sloping the sides, the guy who posted before me was right about it being better to hit the water when you fall then anything. post pics when its all done though

Heya kingwarrior , na got evaluation version all you do is go to File\Export\2D graphic and vola save it to your desktop Smile post your pic when you done. The slider from hell (picture below) is taking its toll on my body at our cable Smile . I start building hopefully next week we got a Boardstock coming up 29 Feb up here in Gauteng South Africa, we need to play test it before then....
