Hey I was just wondering how do you do a pop-shuvit. I think I have the general idea but I don't know if it is right. Usually I can't get the board all the way around or when I try to it doesn't turn at all. Help?

If you can backside 180 that'll help, but it's not necessary. Flukd has the right idea, you basically just need to scoop with your back foot. But be careful, when I was learning pop shuvits I would often scoop too hard & whip the board into a helicopterish frenzy.

Pop the tail hard & give a gentle scoop. That should keep the rotation slow enuff that you can actually watch it & stomp when it comes around 180. As with any skate trick, practice makes perfect.

try and learn it moving. its pretty tough to do stationary and turn into the spin a little it helps keep the board inder you and makes the board spin easier.

I would explain it just like jester, make sure your watching it come around then stomp the feet down. You dont need to do a full ollie, just enough to give the board a little kick while it is in the air. This is one of the few tricks i can do on a skateboard..

And straight into your shins... Rolling Eyes

When I first learn them, I found doing them fakie was way easier, just doing the techniques described above.

Just catch the board and land with your front foot until you get used to itl, because as you get better it is the front foot that keeps the board under control.

the easiest way for me is to get stationary, put your forward heel off the back (heelside) edge and back toe off the front (toeside) edge, then just push your back leg backwards and vice versa. For some reason the board ollies itself. Once you get that, its easier to take them bigger by doing the scooping technique.
