have you learned to do a ts raley first? If you havent then that will help you. When I do a batwing I come in aggressive and edge through the wake and let the qwake kick my board out behind me for the raley part, but the the key is going for the grab right off the wake and bring your knees up. That way, as the board gets tossed out for the raley part, you can reach down and grab it as well and hold on to it through the trick. If you let it go out first then try to grab it youll miss the grab.

It helps me, while edging in and popping off the wake, to pull the rope in tight to my hips. I have bad technique and don't normally do this, so to most, do it more. When you launch, allow the handle to drift away, in front of you, as your body will naturally drag horizontally behind the boat. Twist, make the grab, and then, if you need with both hands, pull the handle back towards your waist.
