Hey, I am thinking about buying a cassette 3-d, and i was wondering if any owners of one have had any problems with the clear coat or the paint comming off like the 2002 hyperlite skates did. Thanks.

Kevin

The one my friend rides did a little. Not too bad though.
You gotta think though, that it's just wood. Wood will soak up the water eventually anyway, being submerged like a wakeskate is alot of the time.

I have never had a problem with them. I like the grip tape better too. I am looking at trying one of the new Origin skates out there too, slider base and I heard it is sick.

I know some of the kids have been breaking them around here, hitting a lot of rails. I have had good luck with mine so far, but I want to check out the new Hypes. I wish they would make a griped model.

Just to clarify my post. I hit rails with my 3d and it has held up for 5 months. I know some kids that hit rails A LOT of the time and they are breaking 3Ds in less time than that. You have to ride rails a bunch for it to be a problem. The old flat cassettes held up better than the 3Ds.
