hey, i was wondering if any of you guys know of a good web host that i can upload my video onto. i made a video a little while ago that i want to share with the forum which is about 37 megs. i saw a vid on here that was around 40 megs but still when i tried to upload it into my gallery it was too big. i wanna be able to upload it somewhere without altering the quality to make it smaller. Any suggestions?

WakeKid07, I wouldnt put a 37mb file on the net for people to few. Thats way too big....If somebody had dial up and wanted to check it out with would take hours upon hours. How long is the video?

Your compressed video should be 3 to 4mb per minute and this is how to do it:

1) Go to http://www.dpcfilms.com/howto/
2) Click on the "Be Nice! Compress Your Videos (word .doc)" link

If you have any problems or questions, please let me know so I can update the doc.

This should get you started in the right direction. I would also like to add that this is not the ONLY option out there. You can use a product like Sorenson Squeeze, but it will cost you $$$.

I choose Windows Media Encoder 9 as the example because it's FREE!

i was working on this last nght and this morning:
i use adobe premier 6.5 to edit my videos. once i was finished with my video i used an Mpeg encoder and exported my video which came out to be about 37 megs. i tried taking the video and using the mpeg encoder but changed the file type to avi or mov. i just realized though that this was stupid hence it is an "mpeg" coder haha. i will try what you have DC, and if that doesnt work then i will try to export it in adobe another way. thanks

You can use the export tools in Premiere, but you are limited with the settings.

One of these days I'll get around to writing a "how to" for the quicktime (.mov) export in Premiere.
