Not going down on you, but I think you will place alot better in intermediate than you would advanced. People in advanced throw 5's and Whirly's and stuff. If you are going to compete in advanced, You should go for a huge spin off the D-Up. Since you have backrolls, tantrums, and 180's down, try a roll 2 revert or tantrum to blind or something like that. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

actually a whirly and a hs 5 would be more like outlaw tricks. the limit of flips you can do in advanced is like 3 i think. also i asked and the biggest spin i would be aloud to do is a ts5. not a hs 5 cause those are harder. my good tricks are gonna be my 3, backroll, tantrum, and frontroll. i have all those down so im just looking for tricks that will set me apart from the crowd. not anything extremely difficult but something different. _________________ Yabba Dabba Dizzle |

In my personal opinion, if you want to set yourself apart from the crowd learn to grab every trick. Get a nose grab on your backroll, indy tantrum and frontroll. Grab your 3 and 180s nose. Learn blind 180s and grab them tail. Also, learn a blind 3 and some switch stuff. You have 3 hs big tricks compared to one ts big trick. Learn a ts 3, scarecrow or ts backroll, then grab them, or perhaps a half cab roll, not many people busting switch tricks.
Ok, I'll leave you alone now, but remember, don't try to set yourself apart by the tricks you do, but how you do them. Simple tricks can be made to look really sick if they are grabbed and tweaked.

the most important thing is, have fun before you ride and while you ride. if you get to worked up about riding well you won't have fun and won't ride well.
also just try to put some good back to back moves in, don't do a hs backroll with a ts wakejump. try hs backroll with a ts indy fs 180 landing crossed up (hold the grab till you hit the water and land with the handle in your swich back hand. hold every grab as long as you can.
d-up, try a nose hs fs 360 |

Umm yer advanced is a way different version of grass roots than over here in Canada. Ours is 4-7 inverts and they are pretty good.. ALmost everythign is grabbed and not just basic inverts but with mobes and what not.. Also advanced is osmetimes better than pro, funny hey? but intermediate would be a good place for you, here its 1-4 inverts but i wouldn't ride in it again till I had two inverts or spins.. But no I got three dialed and 5s so.. I think thats kinda sandbagging but I lost the psins now since last week so i'm screwed there.
Also another point is.. if this is your first tourney and somebody throws down a rad run.. Just do what you can and what you can the best.. don't try stuff that you might not land until you have landed everythign that your sure of.. The judges will see this as confidence and that should help you. Do it your way not theres! is my motto in tourneys, works for me maybe nto for you but its an idea to think about. I also have my judging certifiacte and judge regularlyso I think you should trust me on that one. _________________ I wakebaord, wakeskate,do anythign stupid, hurt others and have fun doign it. |
