*(&#(*@Y$*&@^$(*@ i hate &*&$#ing skate stoppers. they just ruined one of the best skate spots in my town. how many of you are seeing your best spots ruined because of these bastards? its not even smart all it does is lead to more vandalism and aggravated skaters and a bad relation(well... worse relation) between skaters and police, and property owners.

The fat janitor at the Post Office told us to go away...
We just come back when its closed.
Ever tried skating inside on smoothe tile. Laughing

i actually have skated inside the local post office, and the laundromat, the grocery store, the school gym was killer. The list goes on, and remember it isn't against the rules if you don't get caught.

The Headless Chicken, i know about those there are very few spots here that have them. I have never had to outrun any janitors or rent a cops because i very rarely get confronted. one time i did attempt to outrun the 5-0 and hit a dead end, i hid in blackberry bushes for an hour and a half only to be caught. I was with a friend and we decided that it was time to get back to the car, we were pulled over within 5 seconds of getting in the car. The thing was we knew they were still there and would be there for a long time to come because the cops in this town literally have nothing better to do. After they completely tore apart my friends car searching it they let us go with only a warning, it was ridiculous.

that's so gay. Is it worth it for them to make their ledges and hand rails look like crap when they could just tell people to go away?

liquidforce519, it doesn't even look like it has a runway, so thats just useless and now ugly. That kinda happened here but it was because snowboarders were doin a handrail so they put a bunch a little pieces of rectangular shaped metal. it looked like they just took a round metal piece and bent both sides and just welded it on so now it looks awful.

Those skate stoppers on that handrail... wouldn't they just defeat the purpose of a handrail in the first place?

Ha ha ha ha ha

No

The bolts that were used that I saw were like 3 inches long or something. Not sure on length but they are heavy duty and the ones I saw were mostly into concrete.

True, but if they were in a place out of the way it wouldn't be to hard to get away with it.

True, but it looks like most of the places that do have them are pretty visible and if you get caught you can get fined.

I dont think they are supposed to put them on handrails. THe requirements of the ADA prohibit stuff like that. You should complain and use that as your excuse, might get a few of them off or at least get some fines for the people putting them up

Gripping surfaces shall be uninterrupted by newel posts, other construction elements, or obstructions

we only have skate stoppers at one p lay in the area, The high school has these http://www.skatestoppers.com/images/Handrail.jpg
but that's not stopping anyone from the 11,6,5,4 sets and ledges.
Skate stoppers are so damn ugly i'd rather look as a grinded waxed ledge that some ugly metal bracket. I've only seen on skate stopper that looked good, ant hat was online somewhere, it was at a beach and they had likea little startfish and octopuse thing on the corners.
