Scarecrow:
Come in with a nice ts PROGRESSIVE edge. Ride the whole wake up, then kind of try to push off of the wake, throwing the board over you. If it helps, let go with the front hand (letting you go switch easier) about 1/2 or 3/4 through the rotation. I bet someone will come in here and say learn a ts front first, but i learned scarecrow first and i can do fronts just fine anyways.

Just a quick ?, can you do any other HS inverts? Or spins or anything

i learned crow first and i can do front's also. I think it's easier, cause i start front roll just like the crow then just let go with the back hand instead of front.

As far as tips go, you need to do the trip flip edge. Meaning when you get half way up the wake, let off your edge by starting to open up to the boat. Then dip your rear shoulder down toward the water(left shoulder if goofey, right if regular). Then hold on and let go with your front hand 3/4 of the way through. Also take a pretty large cut at this, cause with the trip flip edge you need a little more speed. Good luck.

Yo man I just landed the tantrum. Try it first. The landings are real easy and rarely do they hurt. You just need to get to be able to do backflips on a trampoline real easy. Just keep trying and reach for the stars!!!!

Blindside_137, if youre riding a blindside 137...be weary....My first board was that, and i had the converter bindings-on one of my tantrums my foot slipped out of the binding in the air and i broke my left ankle...So make sure you cinch them muthas' down! oh and go big.

hey if you havent tried inverts go for a back roll or tantrum first they are the easiest. They have different cuts though so be careful. then move on to the crows or the fronts. thats just my two cents

I second that on the tantrum, they really don't hurt (except on the knees a bit sometimes, but they hurt even less than backrolls) and in my own opinion are easier than backrolls

Don't laugh, but I keep hear you guys say "practice on the trampoline". Do you mean regular, or do you take off your fins and use the board?

tantrums hurt less than backrolls?? i think backrolls are the easiest falls ever, i cant even feel them, just my front foot comes out if i under rotate or i slide out when i over rotate... sooo easy

on a tramp you dont your your board just keep your feet spread like they are on a board. Also dont try and huck it on the tramp try and get nice and lofty with a nice slow upward rotation on the tantrum. just float up and lean your head back and you should come around

This too is stupid but I tried my first tantrum yesterday and first started by just letting go of the rope and seeing if i could back flip and land on my board. Somebody there told me to never let go of the rope when learning stuff like that. I tried it with the rope about ten times and kept letting go. I landed on the board and rode for a second with out the rope a few times. I just started boarding about two months ago so this is still hard for me. I'm 6'4'', about 250, so that doesn't help either. Maybe 15 trips out total. Is there help?
