Alright i have a MC 19' skier(base model) w/ a fat seat filled to the max and 600+ in the nose. Nice wake at 21 mph. i ride at 70 ft. I've been wanting to lenthin my line especially after seeing some of the sick air those guys are getting these days riding at 85+ feet.
So i lengthened it to 75 and i ended up getting less height and more distance. It seems i get more speed and don't get all the wake and the wake seems softer.
Is there a point where your getting all you can out of your ballast and you can't go any longer without sacrificing something. How do those guys ride at 85 ft. and 24 mph. Should i just settle for 70 ft. and 21 mph. Or can i get more out of my boat?
Any help appreciated i'm getting frustrated.

Does anyone with a non-wake ski boat ride at 75 or greater and how much weight do you have and what speed?

i ride at 75 behind a 95 tige with 1,800 lbs of total ballast. the boat has vacuum speedos and you can adjust the calibration on the speedometers so we dont really know how fast we ride. we usually get the wake were we like it and adjust the speedos so they show 20 at the speed when the wake is good. i would guess i ride around 22-23 though.

Thats true my speedo says 20.5 where i like the wake and my perfect pass says 22.7 so i don't really even know how fast i'm going. I do know that if i speed my boat up my wake starts getting smaller and if i lenghtin my rope the wake seems soft and i hit it going to fast and don't have a nice progr edge cuz by the time i get to the wake i'm already going as fast as i can, so i got no upward pop.
Mabey i should just get another 600 lbs and go faster. Anyone?

do Fat Seats stretch or does the water evaporate cuz i fill it to the max and two weeks later theirs room for more?

Each boat setup will be different, my old boat's wake was so wide anything past 70 feet was no good, even though the wake was good back there it was just too wide.

Each boat has it's own characteristics, the only way to figure it out is to experiment.
Too much weight can make the wake bad also it's finding that fine line that takes time...

Thats alittle bit of a sore subjekt with me i already moved all the way to Bend, Oregon hoping to find a place with a lake within 10 minutes and Bachealor. Well the lake was over 45 minutes away down a crazy decline that my jeep would'nt handle and i could never afford to go snowboarding cuz my wife could'nt find a decent job... etc...So i moved to Orlando but now i can't snowboard.
Any way my boat does'nt like it quite as much but my wake is sweeeet! I can ride at 75 now and bump the speed up a couple mph. I was eating it face first on my TS front rolls, kinda fun. Later. Razz
