| Hey guys, I know I haven't been around this summer, but that's because I've been on trips all summer and haven't been home. I went out the other day because I haven't rode all summer. I can cross the wake, ollie, ride switch, surface 180, blahblahblahblah, but I still can't clear both wakes and I usually don't land on my feet. My rope doesn't really let me cut out too far from the wake but I wouldn't think that that would hinder me from making the jump over both wakes. I have a video that shows how to do the progressive cut and all. Any tips on making the landing and now to approach the wake? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but I just can't seem to make the jump. I really need some tips I guess on where to look and what to concentrate on when I do it. Thanks guys. |

Is it possible that you arent standing tall at the wake? If this is the case, then your knees will be absorbing all the pop that you would be using, and in that case you wouldnt be able to clear the second wake. Also, in landing make sure you keep the handle right by your waste to maintain your balance, this will help you stick those landings. As far as what to look at, just look where you're gonna go and spot your landing early. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

| sooooo your knees are really almost locked when you hit the top of the wake....and I also heard that looking at where you are gonna land is a bad idea, or just looking down. Does this mean that I should be looking at the horizon? Thanks. I'm watchin the Xgames right now while I'm typing. lol. |

Yes, the idea is to stiffen your knees so that it pops you up over the wake and the water does all the work. Just looking down is a bad idea, when I say spot your landing I mean look to the second wake your looking to clear as you take off, but dont look down as you're landing or it could end up being a pretty good crash. When I land I tend to look at the horizon as if I'm going to ride away from it no matter what, and they always seems to help me. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

True, Wakeboarding is on ABC right now. Thanks for the tip. I may go to the lake in an hour or so to try it out. If it feels good enough I might try some 180's or grabs. Think I should?? |

If you get your W2W jumps down consistent you should start trying to progress to those tricks. But if you cant Id suggest you just keep working on the W2W because that is the basis for all your tricks, and it will pay off in the future. However, wakeboarding isnt a discipline, its all about having fun, so if you get tired of trying to go w2w then go ahead and do that 180 and grab that board. Keep it fresh, keep it fun. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

Yeah, although the position is a bit awkward at first, you get used to it after some practice. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

Butterslides, where you slide the wake. Then a butterslide 180, where you slide the wake and then come out switch. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

| Has anyone used "Detention" to learn their tricks? I just talked to a guy I know and he said he was gonna let me borrow the DVD. He said that it was really good to learn all the tricks with. |
