hey i just started wakeboarding a coupl of days and i was wondering if it is possible to ollie and let your board go under the water to about the top of your bindings and then lean back and come out of it. has anyone done that or is it even possible or do you think you would just faceplant like hard? |

er, you can do it when starting. But that is starting with the board underwater. For ollieing while the boat is at speed. I would say your just inviting pain. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

Just wondering, but why would you want to do that?
Also, if you ollie I think it would be pretty tough to get the board that far underwater and keep it there, unless you were really heavy and riding a small board. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

| yeh and if you were at speed its just like jumping from 2 feetn and noseing the board so you would feel much pain but maybe at slow speeds but not at fast speeds. |

well im about 115 pounds on a evolution 134 and yea maybe it is better at slower speeds...i sorta wanna try it even if i faceplant it would look pretty cool. maybe haha that reminds me of when my dad first got up on the wakeboard, hes used to skiing so he was going sideways sorta like you would do a butterslide but in the wake and then he went over the wake and you could here the smack in the boat. it was whout. |

dude, dropping from 12+ feet out of the air people's entire board doesnt submerge.......but hey, if it doesnt kill ya it can only make you better, hopefully _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

this made me laugh, a lot, I think I frightened a few people around me.
Hey guys, do you think it's possible, if I jump the wake, and flip and let my head go first and then my whole body under the water and then turn the board and get back up?
haha, sorry. _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |

That's actually an interesting question. Don't worry about people giving you crap about it just because it's unorthodox.
So, you've got me wondering. Normally, if you dig the nose it, you're done. The thing is, however, that nobody ever does it on purpose so when it goes in, that means their weight is already way too far forward. Maybe you could do it if your weight were more balanced or biased rearward. If it is possible, I think your timing would have to be impeccable.
Anyway, I ain't gonna try it. Let us know how it works out for you. _________________ We are wakeboarders and our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain. |

No worries, it oughtta work great. You'll probably want to cut out on the outside of a corner when you try it. Pretty sure it's easier when you're going fast like that..... |

Once I was boarding behind our Seadoo and it got a stick jammed in the impeller so it slowly slowed down to about 10 mph so my board sank and I just kinda submarined and then the stick came loose so we sped up and I got back up. It was pretty cool. So just have the boat slow to about 10 (or a little slower/faster) and keep your weight balanced. I don't know if its possible at normal speed after an ollie but somehow what i said works. _________________

About 5 or 6 years ago I remember reading somewhere (I think it was an interview in WBM, or maybe heard it on a video) that one of the top pros (at the time) forecasted that the future of wakeboarding was in underwater tricks. I think it was someone like Cobe Mikacich or Dean Lavelle. I guess he could've been joking but I think he was serious. Anybody else remember that?
As for the question at hand, I don't think any form of submersing (sp?) is possible at normal speeds, at least with the equipment of today (except for the new Byerlys- who knows what's next?) _________________ hace frio tambien |

What speed did you try it at? If you tried it going anymore than 10mph I'm not surprised and I'm amazed that you were surprised by the result!
Have you ever caught an edge? That is effectively what you were doing on purpose........ouch!
See the post on water in the eyelids, does it sound familiar? |

DunDunDun, that would be a cool faceplant to see. Going over the nose of the board rather than your toes, it would be like a cartwheel faceplant.

Mister C,
The img tag is what you use to embed images that are hosted on other servers. Example:
| Code: |
[img]http://www.myserver.com/mypicture.jpg[/img]
|
The square brackets are BBCode. HTML also has image tags but they use angle brackets like this: <img>...</img> _________________ We are wakeboarders and our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain. |

Mister C, yea i dunno if it was like a cartwheel or not. it was more of an "eyeopener/sore neck" for a couple of hours. it happened so fast too |

See if its possible to faceplant so hard that the momentum carries you through the water and all the way around so you do a submerged invert and manage to hang onto the handle and ride away _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

Mister C, Rocket, yea ill get right on that one. NOT i might be nieve but not that nieve. i do sorta wanna try that one where you lay on your back. i forget what its called but i say it in the glossary. it would look cool if you could do it. have you guys ever tryed to just be pulled by the boat? like on a serious note it is possible my friends and i do it when were on his boat. being pulled behind a 18 foot 115 horse is fun. you lay on your belly with no life jacket and then he just guns it and you roll over onto your back. your head will be the first to hit the water so it makes a big wave and you can rbeathe under it. it does work ive dont it. ill try to get a pic of it soon or a vid to show you all what i mean. |

you talked like just being pulled by the boat and being dragged on your back was something new. People have done that barefooting for years. _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |
