Went out to try my first invert this past weekend and this is what I came up with. I'm not sure I'm letting off my edge enough for the trip....I seem to need more air and I don't think my knees are straight enough either. Also do I need to rotate faster? File is kinda big too....

Thanks! |

First you need to change your scary a$$ avatar. Then tell me what is wrong with your vid because my quicktime won't play it. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

It wasn't about the bandwidth. I'm on cable. It's just that when you authored the video I think it compressed it wrong. My quicktime couldn't decode it.
Ok here goes...
Need a more progessive edge to get more speed into the wake. Trying squaring up even more to the wake, you still look like you'r doing a normal w2w kind of. I don't know if you felt the trip motion but it didn't look like you hucked it which is good, but you also didn't get enough pop to rotate the trick. Keep your arm with the handle a little more bent so you rotate faster. Key thing is to look straight back. Youa re looking over one shoulder. This causes a natural tantrum to blind kind of rotation. You want to look straight back, it is scary at first because you lose site of all ground but just do it. Practice backflips on a tramp if you can. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

Strange....
I've tried the file on two different computers, the one I created it on and my home PC....I'm becoming partial to quicktime because there's so much more control when viewing the clip....
when you say look straight back, you mean look up and back, like a regular backflip, and not back towards the wake/back of board?
simland,
Where do you ride around St. Paul? I've got some family up that way...sister in Golden Valley, and cousins in Shoreview. How 'bout them Vikes huh???? Just signed Brock Lesnar! |

| ahhhh.... ok, I haven't thrown a tantrum (yet), but it looks like you didn't trip over the wake like you should and try to get a little more pop coming off the wake. |

Yeah straight up and back like a backflip. No off to the side unless you want to start throwing some spins into the deal and that's just plain harder.
I ride on the east side of the metro, so opposite golden valley, but it's only like a 45min drive out there...minus construction. Brock Lesnar, yea this should be interesting. As if the Vikings weren't already a laughing stock. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

| i would cut a lot harder at the start and then let off a bit as you approach the wake. thats how i do my tantrum. i have found that the longer you wait to start the rotation the higher you get. you might be throwing it a little early. wait for the trip. but my main suggestion is to take a harder cut at the start. |

| It looks like you arent throwing your upper body into it enough. Throw your head back a little more but not to hard. Just keep it one smooth motion.[/quote] |
