My dad and i wakeboard almost everday with my friend and get the nicest water. Usually tubers or bad ski boat drivers wreck our water. Tubers should be out in the middle of the lake or not ruining skiers/wakeboarders water. The bad ski boat drivers we see make huge powerturns when the rider falls. Once the riders falls make a nice stop and go slowly picking up the rider. Hope you dont make any mistakes like these. Thanks

unless the lake is pretty rough (9inch waves) i'd pull tubers in a rough cove. if a tuber is out in the center the rollers will hit the whole lake, they will be smaller, but eneough where it will be annoying. power turns suck, i'm tryin to get my parents to stop em, my dad listened but my mom has lake rage

Do you own this water? I don't think so, deal with it.

Correct, but you can't do sh*t about it, if they want to power turn, they will.

Now grow some balls and deal with sharing the water.

midwest wake is right if they pull in the center they are just gonna send rollers out over the whole lake. if they pull in a straight line along the side then it shouldnt be too bad ts the s turns that mess stuff up. i dont really care if people tube on weekends or in the middle of the day but when i wake up early or stay out late for that sunset butter then i get pissed.

I don't care about people tubing as long as they stay away from me. I don't mind sharing with them, I just hate it when they have to get so close to us while we're pulling someone. This has only happened a few times, but it makes me mad. It's only a few boat drivers who don't care or just don't know.

Pulling a tube or messing up flat water does not mean they are a bad boat driver. Unless it is your lake, they have just as much right to be there as you. Crack a beer and wait if it bothers you that much.

On the subject of bad boat drivers though, when I see an I/O with the driver standing and the nose of the boat up in the air, I get mad. If the boat manufacturer wanted you to stand, why would there be a seat? Almost universally a standing driver means 'watch out, i suck at boating'

umm....if you're standing, you have more visibility. If there are a lot of people out, or a lot of trash in the lake, I'll stand up so I can make sure not to hit anything.

I had a hard time getting used to a windshield to look through Very Happy It's hard to see sometimes when there's people up in the bow too, but I do understand your point....maybe they should learn how to work their trim!!!

The Headless Chicken, You are right. On the resevoir it is usually tubers that run close. There is one slalom guy who gets real close sometimes. I get P.O.'ed about it when there is 900 acres of water to share, and some jack arse wants to share it 30-40yards away from me. We leave and go to another bay, and we get followed some of the time. You would think that a half dozen boats could share 900 acres! Wink

The most annoying is the people who just show no common sense. I ride in an estuary type area with small channels which are always smooth, however you typically see people in non waterski/wakeboard boats sitting right in the middle of the river stopped drinking etc. The area is super narrow so you get the picture.

Over the years I've whined and complained about all the bad drivers on "MY" lake(I lived 2 min from the boat launch for 17 years and now 10 min) I finally gave up..if I want a seriously good run I get up very early, on the water by 7am and usually off by 9:30am . I try and stay away from the lake on weekends. I am a shift worker and I have the luxury of going mid-week.. I know its not "MY" lake just showing the attitude I used to have.

now with all the PWC's everyday and the other 3000 boats on a five mile lake its not worth it to go out for a serious ride when you know its going to piss you off.. I just join in the fun and whip the kids around in a tube like the others.. My oldest daughter wakeboards in all conditions and doesn't whine a bit she's just glad to be on the water

i think it should be legal to carry paintball guns on boats, so when theirs really bad drivers u could just unload a hopper on em so they get a clue....

usually if my rider falls or if a boat is being dumb ill stare em down and give em the "wtf are u doin u idiot" look. and if that doesnt work then ill flip em the bird.

but u gotta think, u were prolly a shtty driver when u started...sooo.....

yup it's a common problem with newbies. i have seen several new wakeboard boats on the local river doing power turns and not following return paths. glad i'm not behind those boats.
