|
|
This is the first and only BACKROLL(MEXICAN) I nailed in my life last weekend.
http://photos.wakeboarder.com/showphoto.php?photo=4989&password=&sort=7&thecat=500
I was really happy so I watched the VID everyday.
Then I started to think that maybe I nailed that BACKROLL
only by luck.
Here痴 what I think.
1.I知 getting enough pop
2.I知 standing tall when I知 leaving the wake
3.After I left the wake, I知 starting to bend my body
4.I知 not looking for the area where I知 going to land
(To tell the truth, I just remember the moment I hit the
Wake. I can稚 remember what I知 doing during the rotation.
Maybe my eyes are closed. The next point I remember after my
take off is 0.1 second before my landing and it is the surface of the
water under my board.)
5.The handle is far from my hip when I知 landing.
What do you think that I should do when I try this trick next time?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Any way I think that all you guys who give tips in this site made me
able to jump high and nail this trick.
Thanks.!!!!! |

K, I think I know what may help. Your edge into the wake is consistent, not progressive. Meaning that you are at about the same amount of edge 8 feet from the wake as you are right at the wake. For a backroll, you want the rope tight, and the way to do that is to take a very progressive edge into the wake. So come in easy, then just before the wake, really dig your edge in. That should keep your rotation nice and smooth throughout the move.
And as far as not knowing where you are during the flip, don't worry, that's how every flip is the first handful of times you land it. Once you hit some more, you'll get used to it and be able to see where you are better. Then when you try your next flip, you get lost again, part of the fun of wakeboarding! |

Yeah i agree with toothpick,
Take a more progressive edge into the wake. For spotting your landing you look over the leading shoulder. Again, like he said, you will get use to it eventually. Also you will be able to see where your going.
Have you tried any since then? Or can you no longer land it?
Also, looks like you just need to let the wake do the rotation, that way you don't go mexi. The video makes you look like you land that all day
I can tell the people in the boat were excited haha |

i thought you were gonna nose the board
it looks really good but try to let go with your back hand and keep the front hand near your front hip so you don't get too much air and end up nosing it in |

The vid makes it look easy, I don't see you having any problems really other than it wasn't the most progressive cut like toothpick said. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects
