I can usually pop off the wake well enough with my old board, which used to be an 02 HL Project. Well just recently I bought a 04 CWB absolute Plat. Twisted Evil

The Project is a continous and the Absolute is a 3-stage. Very Happy

My question is...should i jump differently now that I have a 3 stage or jump like I always have. I've heard that w/ cont. you ride off the wake while a 3 stage Kicks you off. Should I change how I jump. Confused Confused

nope, dont change your progressive edge at all, the only thing you will have to change is the feel for popping off of the wake, it will be a different "pop" with the 3 stage instead of the continous, the 3 stage is not as soft a take off as the continuous however the pop is greater in most cases

It also depends on the shape of your wake. A 3-stage board will benefit more from a steep(more vertical) wake than a smaller more rampy wake. I changed from a 2001 Obrien Answer (continuous) to a 2004 LF Substance and I can notice a significant different in pop behind a 2002 Moomba Mobius (steep wake), but not behind my older outboard (rampy wake).

Also the Mooba kicks the crap outta my outboards wake, but dont change your edging.

Once you get use to it you will notice the difference, and the pop will be different.. i notice it especially on inverts myself, because i overrotated when i started riding the 3 stage

a wakeboard is a wakeboard, nothing major changes. you pop a bit harder with a 3 stage but youll get used to it and wont notice it pretty quick.
