| i think our boat has an additional 1200# ballast system. not sure on the exact weight. the fuel tank is 45 gallons, so that helps out. a lot of people rag on the X-10's wake, but i like it. depending on how many people we pile in the boat with the ballasts full, the wake can get a little more crisp on the lip. it always has a rampy feel to it, which i like.

| kyle.... we had about 1500#s of people weight the last time out and I swear the wake was crisp. there was some wash on one side, but my goofy heelside was niiiiiice! we had to balance the weight out a bit, but sometimes that's hard with different aged people in the boat. (younger/smaller)

I don't know. Everytime i've been behind an X-10, the wake just does'nt boot me up like I'm used to. The wake seems really mellow, sort of round. Not too much of a lip. The last one I rode behind that was weighted had the stock ballast and 1200#'s extra and 4 people. It was nice, just not vert. It's all preference I guess. Hey, if it's working for you, why fix it.....right?

| Kyle.... I haven't been behind an X-star, so I really can't compare. I know I'd rather have the X-star wake, but my hubby hated the lack of roominess in the X-star as opposed to the X-10. The price was the same. I wanted the X-star wake with the X-10 interior. We have a lot of family and kids out on our boat, so we went for the roominess.

Holy crap, foammesh, my wake is like 1/3rd that height. I'm jealous.
sk_190, what's a drywall compound bucket like? I was thinking of maybe filling sections of pvc pipe and capping the ends. Anyone know if that would work?

| John Jared.... i think you're talking about the X-9. The X-10 and X-star are both direct drive. I believe the X-9 is a V drive. There's a ton more room in the X-10, different hull design, wider beam, etc...

blue fish- i used big tuppeware bins that hold about 200lbs a piece. they keep your boat a lot cleaner, plus people can sit on them.

Christy,
Nice Boat!!!
There is a big difference in roominess between the X-10 and the X-Star. It is hard to tell a difference unless you are in a showroom and look at them side by side.
The X-10 also handles rough water better. I tested both, liked the wake a little better on the Star.
We run factory ballast, 500lbs up front and an additional 750 in back. Along with a few coolers of cold drinks and some overweight beer drinkers.

John,
Yeah, I'm down....I guess I'll have to get a dry suit now .
I've been talking to a few friends down by Indy and we've been talking about some weekend shindigs this summer. We're trying to find someplace that's in the middle for Indiana and Illinois riders and that we can camp at. Once we get the place picked out I'll probably post something or e-mail everyone. But, I'm down for some early season riding...just hit my email up!

| I run about 2100 lbs to 2700 lbs in my 03 Launch SSV. I put 800 lbs in the ski locker 650 lbs on each side of the engine with 3 or 4 people in the boat. If we want even more then I'll add two 350 lbs sacks behind the double up seat.

whoo-hoo!!! Finally some X-10 support. Thanks hOUston! Niiiiiice boat, dude! So how do you place the additional weight in your boat? (in addition to the ballasts) What do you use and do you throw it under the seats up front and then on each side of the engine in the back?? Does it give your wake a more defined lip?

Christy,
Thanks! I have two fat sacks in the back right next to the factory ballast. The weight in the front is under the seats.
It is a great wake, can't really tell much difference (other than width) from my friends 02 XStar.

| hOUston... thanks, I may have to get the hubby some fat sacs for his birthday. Usually it's just the two of us and maybe a third out riding, so my "people weight" doesn't add up to much. Do the sacs take up a lot of room in the back? Do they lay down flat, the length of the floor? Hubby won't like it if he loses all the storage in the back. I guess I need to cruz some of my boat supply mags for some fat sac sizes.

We run with a phat seat in the back, 2 phat buddies on the sides and a front sac. the TAPS system helps a lot, being able to level the wake out. There are also about 3 people on board if we are running that set up. It is my friends boat, there is also a SAN that ourother friend has. He runs the ballast and 4 sacs. Both throw a huge wake. The biggest I have heard of is Hank Carter's boat. My friend Cody has told me about it... Can't remember how much weight, but he said it was better than the triple crown weighted SAN. I will find out and put it backon here.
