Event Name: M2 Ski School Presents GCWA
Summer Tournament at Houston
Watersports Complex Location: Houston Watersports Complex -
Houston, Texas
Date: 8/7/2004
Description:
The Gulf Coast Wakeboarding Association along with M2 Wakeboard World present the Inaugural H-Town Showdown Wakeboarding tournament. Come test your skills against some of the best riders in the state and compete for cash and prizes. We will have activities planned to entertain both riders and spectators, so come on out for a day of sick riding, good music and get some of today's newest gear by riding, raffle or buy it from the Pro Shop. Proceeds of tournament will benefit Texas Adaptive Aquatics, a non-profit organization that teaches watersports to disabled children and adults.
Houston Watersports Complex Nautique and Sanger dealership will be the official boat sponsor for this year's tournament, providing riders with some of today's best tow boats. Advanced and Outlaw will be pulled by the Super Air Nautique 210.
Schedule of Events:
August 6th (Friday)
H-Town Showdown PreParty @ Little Woodrow's (Midtown 2306 Brazos St.). We will be at Little Woodrow's with tournament boats on display and a chance to hang out before the tournament. Happy hour prices all night! Sorry 21 and up only.
August 7th (Saturday)
Registration starts at 10:00 AM and riding starts at 11AM sharp. Practice sets will be available behind tow boats starting at 8AM. We will have 4 levels of riding including beginner, intermediate, advanced and outlaw. Riding will start with beginner and progress until 3 PM at which time we will run Outlaw (other divisions will be postponed or paused while the Outlaw division runs). There will be food available from Big Bertha y Los Amigos Cook-off team and plenty of beverages to keep you hydrated. Come on out and enjoy a day of wakeboarding fun at Houston Watersports Complex. Water Trampoline and accessories will be available, so bring your board shorts whether you plan on riding or not. Music will be provided by Lushus Brown, one of Houston's top Lounge DJ's.
Directions to Houston Water Sports Complex - Take 288 exit McHard Rd. go West 2 miles to Almeda Street (F.M. 521) make right go over railroad track to first street make a right turn go to Nautique Way make a right. Signs will be posted to help.
Hotel - Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Pearland, minutes away from Tournament site. Newly constructed property with well-equipped fitness center; and out-door pool and spa. Special GCWA Contest rates, 20% discount ($60 plus tax). Need to ask for Jay or GCWA.

So whats pulling Beginner and Intermed? It only says the super is pulling Adv and Outlaw

| We will probably pull the first two divisions with a Sanger as the Super Air probably is a little too much wake for those divisions.

The gate fee is 2 bucks and it will go to Texas Adaptive Aquatics.

That's funny. I remember that thread about there being no such thing as "first annual". When I read that thread, I did relay it to Thutch. So, Swass, you probably did have some influence to the name.
