I was talking to this kid today about which one is which, I was sure a varial heel flip was a bs shuvit and a heel flip and an inward heel flip was a fs shuvit heelflip, so which is it? I was thinking inwards are done fs shuvit stylke because they look like an inward motion... aany one know? Thanks in advance.

Hey Fred,

You have 'em backwards, inward heels are the backside shuvit & varial heels are frontside. Essentially varial heelflips are s'posed to be like varial kickflips in reverse. The varial kickflip flips towards your toes & spins backside, the varial heelflip flips away from your toes & spins frontside.

Thanks Jester. I thought inward heels (what I thought they were) were called that because the spin looks sort of inward. Oh well thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, skate trick nomenclature can get real confusing. Actually, a lotta people think the same as you did with varial heels, it makes sense 'cuz the varial kickflip spins backside.

isnt it named an inward heel because when you get the 180 the board is then rotating inward like a kickflip instead of like a heel. then again it does the same with a varial. Confused

a twisted flip is when you do a varial kickflip with a fs body varial. imagine if someone did a hardflip with a bs body varial.
