I'm 45 - I just started wakeboarding this year

When I do inverts, they're not by design, nor on purpose Laughing

And I don't land them either Rolling Eyes

But I'm having a good time, and it sounds like you are too

Post some pictures - us old toads gotta whip up on these youngsters Razz

I'm 33 and still learning new inverts, just not every week.... The learning curve has slowed I can't deny that but I'm still getting better and learning new stuff.

I ride with a guy that is 36 and he's still learning one or two new inverts a year as well.

We are not 43 but still old for the sport....

We are the spin to win crowd that's for sure.....

my dad is 50 and he does w2w jumps and sometimes he tries a backroll at the end of his set. He's come close a couple times. This sat. he took a fall and had the bindings real tight but his feet ripped out anyway and he might have broken something in his foot. He's on crutches right now with a removable boot. He snowboards too, but not that great.

I just turned 40 and still working on the inverts.

At the INT Nationals in 2003 a 46 year old landed a tantrum and a back roll.

My stated pipe dream is to be the oldest rider at the X-Games.

The guy that lets us use his boat just started getting up.... its not inverts but hes in his 40s so i give him props for trying. My biology teacher in highschool was like 55 and he can rip it on a snowboard. Nothing too complicated trick-wise but hes fast as hell.

In 5-8 years you are gonna see all kinds of over 40 inverts. This sport is so new that it is hard to find anyone real good over 30-32 even. Very few people were riding 10 years ago. If they were, they started when they were 30! Not a great age to take up an extreme sport. I think Darin S. is 30-ish and Byerly is 30 something. The talent just needs to age. There are guys down here in there mid-30's who can do about anything except the really tech stuff. That's only b/c they don't ride so much anymore. Slalom skiiers ski well past 40, and some even improve. There was a big article on it recently in waterski mag. Hopefully, wakeboarding will be a similar situation.

I just celebrated my 9 annaversary of my 29th birthday recently. just started wakeboarding and i did my first scarecrow the other day. i didn't land it, it was just plain scarry. unfortantly its going to take a few day to recover from the massive impact. i got into wakin by accident. but now im in better shape from the work out. my idea of excersice before was filling the bathtub up with water, pulling the plug and fighting the current. stay with it. your age is just an address it only depends on who lives there. bigdill Very Happy
