|
|
Hey, I got a tramp for my birthday! It's like SO nice to practice on, I haven't got a net yet so I didn,t do any inverts, but it really helped on the spins I already know, I saw I had WAY more control over them in the air after around 2 hours or so of practice on the tramp...
I got the confidence to try another wrapped 360, and I bailed really bad (caught the back edge) and I tried a BS 180 after that and also caught the back edge, it hurts. SO anyone got tips on training on a trampoline? I read the WBM that talked about that, but they didn't talk about spins, only inverts.
Any trampoline videos out there too? _________________ Now even tough I know there's NO one in here that lives anywhere near Montréal, if you ever feel like riding, just pm/e-mail/msn/whatever else me |

For spins, just jump up, wait a minute and then do the spin. Dont to the spin right off of the bounce. Also raleys are fun to do on trampolines |

| the biggest thing is to wait for the air and once in control you spin.I recently got a trampoline and my spins have improved greatly in wakeboarding. Just get someone to spot you when you do the flips, I don't have a net and am doing whirlys and moby dicks etc on the tramp. |

I would think that you have to spin twice has hard to get around with a board attached to your feet. Inertia and all. Unless you practice with your wakeboard on while on the trampoline.
Also if you guys practice with a rop how do you keep tention in the rope? _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

My friend owns a tramp, and we have some shoes taped to an old skateboard deck and use that as our "wakeboard," and the deck also helps to keep us from spinning right off the jump instead of using the handle in the air. As far as keeping tension on the rope, try jumping back a little instead of straight up. Thats what I do and it works for me. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

i was told that spinning on a trampoline is bad becuz its different than being on a real wakeboard and it will get you better at handle passing but the feel is not the same at all and once you get on the water and spin it will mess u up.... could be wrong but i thought it messed me up and made me inconsistent on my spins
inverts though r different because they help build air-awareness, muscle memory and it makes u more comfortable with being inverted. raleys r also very helpful to land on the tramp first _________________ "Everyone dies but not everyone lives." |

Obviously spinning feels different on the water than the tramp. Once you get a feel for what it's like to spin behind the boat, then everything feels more and more like on the tramp. its hard to explain but overall the tramp helps. period. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002

| make sure you practice putting a little bit of slack in the rope while on the tramp, that's very important behind the boat to give you some rope to work with. |

| It can't make you worse at spinning WakeRider911, .If you wait for air on the trampoline and the water you should be fine. |

I'd reccomend not using a deck or anything attached to your feet. I throws you off majorly when you hit the waterand in fact you don't get nearly the spring or the hangtime if you went bare feet or with shoes. If yer gona try and simulate a three keep the rope tight when yer spining on the tramp cause when you hit it on the water you'll get slack and you'll spin like crazy and will think its easy. Also the deck if you land wrong with make you a g.i.m.p., why you ask its because of the width porportions and akward landings on your knees and ankles. Even iwth that said if yer bare and rare on yer tinsy toes you may be able to save yerself if your bailign off the tramp.. Just a suggestion though _________________ I wakebaord, wakeskate,do anythign stupid, hurt others and have fun doign it. |

You guys all make it sound more complicated than it is.....
Just get comfy spinning and flipping while keeping your head up, focus on handle placement, body position and spotting your landing. Just have fun with it and use it for what it is, A SIMULATION. Nothing is better than hitting the wake but the tramp is dam close IMO. Plus it's a great work out! _________________ PEACE

I was using a trampoline and handle today, practicing 180's and different grabs. I just wanted to get used to the feeling of being in the air. I have a new grab to try this weekend!!!
I had no idea jumping on a trampoline with a wakeboard attached to your feet could be so exhausting. I am in need of a long nap! _________________ Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Always fight. Never quit. Live to ride. |

Just another question there... It's pretty much the first time this happens, but my parents say a net for a tramp is useless... I'm very far from that opinion as I bailed out of the tramp a few times already... Anyone got stories of where their net saved them? _________________ Now even tough I know there's NO one in here that lives anywhere near Montréal, if you ever feel like riding, just pm/e-mail/msn/whatever else me |

| I didn't have a net on my old tramp, but there was one time I was doing a back flip. I landed with too much weight backward, so I fell and slammed into the outer bar and fell over onto the ground head first. A net would have prevented that. |
