Ok ladies, here's my first video. This is the 3rd time I have wakesurfed but really the first time I actually was able to surf and throw in the handle. I had lots of fun though.

Sweeet....loks like you had a blast. What kind of boat were you behind?
I love wakesurfing because each pull you take it seems like you get so much better...I never feel like I am progressing when I wakeboard.
Try puting your feet closer to the toeside rail (toes to the edge of the board), and put some weight on your front foot, it will be much easier to stay in the pocket. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

Thanks jrock. I was behind a '94 Ski Sanger. I don't get a chance to surf much though, my boat has such a tiny wake (19' '95 Ski Brendella). I tried it once with a friends island surfer chubby, the 4 ft one. Unfortunately, I think it is hopeless behind my boat. I have video of that attempt, I haven't watched it cause I know it's sad.
I did get to wakeboard behind a Cal Air last night, that was nice. That's only the second time I've been behind a wakeboat and it makes such a huge difference. W2W was soooo easy.
Toes clcoser to the edge, okay coach, I'll remember that. Hopefully I can get another pull behind the Sanger this weekend!!! |

It took a really long time to load so I came into work EARLY this am to watch it, but great job and you look like you are having a ton of fun . Almost makes me want to go buy one, but I am saving for my tower and the new floor in the boat this winter. (tuition, son's bindings, blah, blah, blah )

nice job wawake! havin' fun...gettin' wet..thats the name of the game!
not trying to hijack your thread wawake (you know this) ...but chaz my wakesurf video that I made at the begining of the summer shows how I get up quite a few times..(I do it like I do on the wakeskate!) .this was before Drew gave me my phase five so in my vid I am riding a landlock and a big ol' boat one...that was SUPER boyant and super fun!

Thanks everyone. I loved it, lots of fun and soooo easy.
leslisa, now I know to make it a little shorter or cut the quality down a little. I just took a guess, then realized it was a bit of a big file.
Hahaha, glad you liked the music, I don't even know what it is. I rarely buy cd's and never download music so I used what a friend left for me awhile back and picked the one that had the least swearing.
My husband and I are considering a new (used) boat that has a better boarding/wakesurfing wake but yet can still, shhhhhhhhhh, slalom behind. I think it's usually the husband trying to convince the wife but it definately the other way around for us. He said our boat was fine but I showed him one I found last night and he changed to the, well I support your decision mode. Hehe.
chaz28o, sorry, I had to cut those out, it was way way too long between the time I got up to the time I let go of the rope. Hopefully WJG's video has what you need.
wakejunkeygirl, oh no, I don't mean to be a copy cat. I learned from the best right. I think most of the vids I've seen were yours. I'll try to branch out next time. |

I realize (now) this is the lady's longe - sorry bout that. I've gotten into the bad habit of looking at the thread title, and not the forum it's in
But long as I've tresspassed, can I ask one more question:
Has anyone heard that the Coast Guard might be putting a hault to wakesurfing? (at least so close to the boat)
I have heard that their considering setting a distance that a rider must be away from the boat, no matter if they're attached (holding the handle) or not (handle thrown back to the boat)
This looks like a blast, and like all fun stuff, it gets nipped in the bud
Just wondering (since I'm considering buying a wake-surf-board)
Thanks for not throwing me out on my ear
I'll check out your vid wakejunkeygirl. Thank you! |

chaz28o, I've seen the legislation on banning any activity within 20 feet, last I heard it was just CA. In fact I started to do some research awhile back trying to find CO levels but never did find what I was looking for. I had started a discussion on it, and it took on a mind of it's own, but here's the link and it contains an interesting pic and a link to the article it came from. From what I gathered from the study, CO levels are minimal to none at surfing distance.
http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=26338&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
At least one manufacturer (Nautique maybe, or possibly Centurian) has come up with an optional side vent exhaust system that allows you to direct the exhaust to whichever side you are not surfing on.
I don't believe being male will disqualify you from posting in the ladies launge, especially since you have positive comments. Just don't ask stupid questions like if you should shave yourself.
wakejunkeygirl, When you goind to camp, I want to see more videos? |

Thanks!
Interesting thread you started, I think I'll print it to read, and make notes
Figures it was in CA - I gotta think about moving outta this cornhole state...
I right clicked and saved yours & wakejunkeygirl's vids, you two make it look easy. Getting up dosen't look to tough? Just a real gentle pull by the driver it would seem? I can rent a board for $25 for the weekend, I think I will.
Wakesurfing is definitely something I could get into - might even like it better than wakeboarding? (assuming the CO dosen't kill me)
Thanks for the info - If I get up, I'll post a photo |
