|
|
I hit my 1st d-up today. I mean I nailed it good! I got a good tug on the rope that sent me off axis and I wound up letting go and landing like I did a BS 180.
Is the "tug" common at that height? The guys on the boat said I looked like I was 15 ft up. Don't know if that's true, but it felt like it.
How do you handle the tug, if it's a common trait for d-ups? _________________

I have been wanting to try a double up too. But first I'm gonna have to
tell my dad how to set it up. Which roller do most people recommend going for?
Any other tips? |

Tantrum10, how do you time them? I'm only hitting 1 or 2 out of 4 tries. _________________

Try this when learning to hit the double up:
Keep your eyes on the wake you want to hit...
Which ever double up you choose to hit, 1, 2 or 3, don't take your eyes
off of the wake....you'll naturally float right to it....
Kinda like hitting a baseball, you never take your eyes off of it when you
want to hit it. _________________ Don't let go of the rope |

Yep what Amy said, just keep your eyes on the oncoming rollers and charge the 2nd one. If you time it right, it will converge with your existing wake, you will dip in the swell and it will spike right in front of you. You can wait to turn on your edge at the last second, as long as you hit it clean you will get launched.
If you feel extra pull once you take off, it could be from the driver not holding a constant speed. Its easy to increase/decrease speed after driving through a double up and that can cause a yank in the line tension. Also vearing the boat can yank the line- just make sure the driver holds his speed and keeps a straight line. For the jump, just keep the handle tight to your hips, it should feel like a wake jump with an extra spring. That 'extra spring' is about the coolest feeling in the world though huh! |

| Wait until the front of the boat hits the roller that you want to hit then cut. If I want to hit the second one I wait until the front of the boat hits the second roller then I start cutting. Its kind of a timing thing but once you get your timing down you'll hit it every time. When you figure out when to cut keep your eye on the one you want. I think the second one is the easiest but if you want to go for height hit the third. Good luck |

Ye i have hit t-ups where i couldnt see where i was going the waves were so big it can be scary to cut at them sometimes and its hard to do grabs because the rope is pulling you down so hard _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |
