So now im out for about 2 weeks with a slight concussion and stitches in my head. This sucks, Im considering buyin a helmet now. Well i have to buy one if i want to be riding on the 16th which is in 8 days. Goodness what we do for the love of wakeboarding. Anyone now of any good helmets out there? |

| Man, sorry to hear that. I bought a protec helmet, but I don't ride with it, I only have it to go to cable parks and sliders cause it's required. |

| Sorry to hear about that, that sucks! I hope it gets better quickly! I have a Capix Wakecap helmet. Usually only use it on sliders though, I'll ride with it once in awhile. |

that sucks, I had a girlfriend that did that(not as bad as you though). I was suprised how flexible some people can be. I think my legs would break before I would bend like that _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

intotheflats, This is the second time ive scorpioned too! But the first for cracking my head open.. But yea it kinda surprised me how flexible i am too! my abs hurt tho for stretching that much!
wkbrdmdw'sGF, The way i figuire it is wakeboarding is a dangerous sport i mean yea you can get hurt and i do think everyone will get atleast one bad injury... But hey, i cracked my head open and im going to ride next week... With a helmet until its healed and i get my w2w down but still! Just keep on having fun and dont be scared of the inevitable fall that everyone gets atleast once.
everyone, thanks for caring about my head! i had to share but atleast i can say i have a scar from wakeboarding now... lol! Even tho no one will see it because i have hair... I told the docs in the ER if they had to shave my head i would sign a release and leave... |

Dang girlie...that sounds aweful! Seems like you'd break in half Yep think I'd be wearing a helmet too after that. I wear my hubby's when I wakeskate but I don't really like it too much. Oh dear god...something else to add to the wishlist It never ends with this sport. Hope ya heal quick! _________________ Cause we are strictly business and we also got our pride

| WakeChikNikki, I've done it twice also. The first time, my back hurt so bad. Turns out I'd compressed a disk in my back. I could barely bend backwards without it hurting. When you'd run your finger down my spine, you could feel a bump from where it got crunched. I stretched it a lot, went to the chiropractor and over a few months, it healed up. |

| Ouch, get better soon! After getting a concussion from having a board land on top of my head and cutting me, I always wear a helmet unless I'm just planning on doing some jumps or riding around a bit. |

Sad to hear of the accident. Heal quickly.
I like my protec helmet when I have to wear one. Cheers on the attempt. You will get it. _________________ "It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." -- Mark Twain

| Ever tried acupuncture? Helps me a lot! Did a railey by accident couple of days ago and I seriously bruises my ribs, like 8 or so... AUW! Went to my acupuncturist and the day after, gone! Perfect remedy! |

$30.00 at the wakeboard worlds last year, but I've seen them as low as $10 on eBay plus $5 shipping.

I hate to hear about injuries and feel for everyone, but as we all know its not easy and takes mad pride to get the W2W down or any tricks for that matter. My friend has a helmet and sometimes i wish i did, i think it gives a confindence in trying tricks, which is good for learning. I have fell alot attempting W2W (and have had bad headaches). I feel like i have it, but now my knees are beginning to hurt (age i guess) but hey, its all worth it at the end of the day. My quote and tag line for my skateboard company Gravel is "Scars to Prove it" which goes for any board sport.
Much respect for all you out there! |

WakeChikNikki, that's what everyone asks... and the answer is no! You don't or hardly feel the needles when he sticks them in you! It's surprisingly for how many injuries or other uncomfortablemessess it's successful! f.e. a 'nice' faceplant usually really hurt yer front neck muscles... after a visit by the acupuncturist... gone! I love it |

WakeChikNikki, Try one on in the store and then buy online. Mine is a medium, my 5 yo's is a small with *extra* padding.
