|

Just wondering if off-axis tricks work the same way as inverts. Do you need a tower/pole? I have two boats. One is a bow-rider with a bigger wake but NO tower/pole. The other boat is more of a ski boat. It doesn't have a big wake but it has a pole. I find it much easier to do inverts on this boat then I do on the bow-rider. So.... which boat should I be trying off-axis tricks? I have not landed any yet. I am just getting into trying them. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks. Oh.... and I can hit double-ups both toeside and heelside. Should I be learning new tricks off these? _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

If you can get enough air to do inverts behind that boat, you should be able to get enough air to do off-axis spins. It's sometimes easier for people to learn off-axis spins off the double-up. It tends to help kick you up into it. _________________ Pat McCarthy |

Okay cool so I would be able to do off-axis spins on my ski boat!(its like a ski boat). What about my bow-rider though? It throws a BIG wake but there is no tower or pole. Is there any possibility that I could get back down again once I'm off-axis? _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

| what type of ski boat is it? if its a malibu sunsetter like mine above the year 1995 then you can get a wedge and it makes the wake so much better. |

Its not really a ski-boat. Its a "Charger". Its more of an older speed boat but its got a pole and a small wake so... _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

| Yes, you can definitely do them without a pylon/tower. Having the rope up higher just makes the handle pass a little easier to learn. I would recommend trying your first ones off the DU behind your boat with the pylon. Remember to keep the rope low and close! Good luck |

the higher the pull the higher you go. the higher you go easier the handle passing is. _________________ Derroleek

The pull of the line has nothing to do with 'how high you go'. It gives you a level pull once you get up high, as opposed to pulling you at a downward angle, but its not going to help you go higher.
Your wake will though!.. think about weighting that ski boat with some ballast sacs, you can get a good 2-bag w/ pump setup for under $200. Extra ballast helps the wake so much bc the hull settles deeper and displaces more water. |

Hey, thanks for the advice everyone. Actually I think we maybe getting a pole on my bow rider soon. That will take care of the "small wake" problem. I'm also going to try and get some sacs as well. Jim, does the pump put water in the sacs, pump it out of the sacs, or both? I would imagine both!??! Alright, take it easy. Later. _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |
