Well I just learned how to wakeboard this past weekend (got up on my 3rd try, I was pumped) and now I'm really into it. I'm determined to get good at this sport. I've been looking around for a board on ebay and here are a few I've come up with in my price range (about $200). Which board would you all suggest for me? I'm 6'3" and weigh 200lbs.
1) Hyperlite Belmont 141
2) Liquid Force Balance 143
3) Liquid Force Search 143
4) Hyperlite Parks DNA 143 (probly way out of my league)
Please keep in mind that I see myself progressing quickly and I'm no stranger to big air for I've done just about everything on skies and a snowboard.
Thanks in advance, this site is great, 4 days ago I knew nothing about the sport, now I'm in the market for a board. Funny how that works.
cheers,
Matt |

| i dont think you could go wrong with any of the first three. the parks is a little aggressive for your first board. |

Yea any of those. If you have snowboarded before then you should learn quickly. Pick the one that fits your $$ and don't forget bindings and a handle/rope. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

All of those look really good except the Parks. That board is made for people who throw double half cabs. Its about the most agressive board out there.
I'd check into getting the Balance with Alphas. That's a great setup. Everyone has been raving about how comfey the alphas are.
The Belmont is another great board. It is a bit heavier though.
The Search is more of a beginner board. You might grow out of it faster than you'd like with the snowboard experience. |

the parks was made for people who like agressive boards. you dont have to be an expert to fit into that cattegory. if you can through switch double mobes you could ride a 2x4 and still ride better than most. this is wh advanced board statements are bad. the board is just agressive which isnt always the best to learn on. |

A couple of new riders have ridden the parks for their first board out of my boat. I personally don't really care for the parks I ride it every once in a while. The very first board i rode was the belmont, it was a solid ride but just not what i wanted. you just need to ask yourself how agressive of a board you want and always demo stuff first so that you know you got what you wanted. _________________ I once saw a fork lift pick up a pallet of forks, it was way too literal for me. |

Thanks for the replies everyone. The Parks really went up in price so it is out. What do you think about a 141 as opposed to a 143? Should I worry very much about 2 cm?
Thanks,
Matt |

2 cm = 3/4" not a huge concern (IMHO)
The weight & width of the board(s) would be a bigger issue (assuming they have similar handling) |

| chaz28o, why so the weight. can you even have a aboard that feels heavy until your getting into inverts and spins. |

I'm a newbee (so I may not know what I'm talking about)
We have a few wakeboards (as do some of our friends) my wakeboard (old as it is) is lighter than the others, and I can cut faster, and jump farther on mine than the other wakeboards. (friends included)
I assume that's cuz mine is lighter? It's certainly not cuz it's more radical, lol |

| the wieght of your board shouldnt effect speed and pop thats all rocker and rails. im assuming you have a continuous board and your freinds have three stage boards. continuous boards are faster and will help you go further out into the flats. have you taken into account the weight of bindings too? |
