I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this past saturday, and I just wanted to share a pic with the Bride and brides sis (my best friend) and me...this was a shower that I threw at my casa...

From left to right Amber (my Best Friend & maid of honor), Steph (the bride), and me!

Isn't she cute!!! The wedding was beautiful, but I found out that weddings are stressful!!! I think that probably the next wedding I will be in will be my own (and that won't be for a loooong, looong time!!)

Here are a few pics of the bridesmaids, and me, I have more pics on the way of the bride, so I'll have to post them later...

Gotta love my tan line Laughing ...But aren't the dresses great!!! We went down town after the reception, and all the Bridesmaids just took off the skirts, and wore the tops with nice jeans and high heels, it looked great!

Those are gorgeous dresses. I bet that was great getting to put on blue jeans instead of having to wear those formals all night. Very Happy

I love heels. I'm only 5'2" and my hubby is 6'. If not for heels all of our pictures would look horribly disproportionate.

Thanks for sharing!!

very pretty...I love the dresses (how they turned into 'tops' with jeans and heels) and I love your choker! when my hair was cut into a pixie..I always wore chokers!
*bring the eye to that neck!*

I got into 'scarves' a couple years back and am still going strong on those. Wink

I have those same annoying tan lines!!! I am almost as proud as those as I am of the peeling callouses on the palms of my hands. Shows how much I ride.

I also love the choker. I have a pixie cut as well. I get compliments on my neck all the time. It's a weird thing to be complimented on.

Ha, ha, you know it girl...I am stocked up on chokers, I probably have more chokers than I have outfits to wear them with...I'll have to check out the scarves scene...see how that works for me! Thanks! Wink

P-chick, I even had special "body make-up" covering those tan lines, so you can imagine how bad they really are! Cool

Oneday..yes, check out the scarves for sure..you would look good in them. the best ones are the really thin ones that you wrap around like 3 times..makes a vintage t-shirt and jeans look totally hip and trendy!

anyway I am not sure if there is an Urban Outfitters or a Nordstrom by you, but they always have the best selection (Nordies in the Savvy department)

(god, I am like 'girling out' on everyone with fashion tips!!) Mr. Green Laughing

OK..everyone resume wakeboard chat.

P-chick! I feel ya, a client looked at my calloused hands today and said "oh my is that from your 'KNEE BOARDING??' I said..ummmm. yeah. Rolling Eyes

calloused hands from kneebarding? What the...?

I am constantly having to explain what wakeboarding is to my customers. They always want to know why my arms are so muscular and where I get my tan. Au natural babee!

wakejunkeygirl-I am a big fan of scarves too! Try wearing one as a tube top. Super cute. I find the best selection on Haight (if you are anywhere near San Francisco)

Wait...was that a MissJade sighting? Where ya been girlie? Smile

Those dresses are awesome! They look really flattering on you guys. I'm having pic post withdrawl or something so here's some of me and my girlz at a wedding I was in last month. The dresses were really different (being short and all) and comfy on the big day...it was pretty hot. I'm on the bottom left in the first one.

Onedayatatime- What a fun dress you got to wear! It has just enough sparkle and the idea of mixing it with jeans is too cute! I'm glad you posted the pics - most bridesmaid dresses are a lot more hideous!

Indywakechica- I love the color of the ones that you posted-usually that is pretty flattering to most people. Comfy is good!

My friends know me really well. And they know to never put me in a "bridesmaid" dress. Thank goodness I don't have any friends getting ready to marry soon.

I like the idea of eloping. It's romantic, cheap and easy. And no bridesmaid dresses.....

P-Chick, I hear you about the eloping idea...but, I swear my mother would kill me if she never gets to see me in a white dress...but like I keep telling her, it will be a long time before someone pins me down Laughing Wink !

I think my mother would faint if she found out that I was getting married or if I had someone in my life that wanted to marry me. She stopped nagging me a couple of years ago for grandchildren. Smile

Oh man, my mom always brings up that kind of stuff...even in front of my boyfriend Shocked I'm always ready to interrupt her when I think a comment like that is about to come out of her mouth! I have to pull her aside all the time and be like "Mom, I don't want to get married and start having babies any time soon, but I would like to keep my B/F around so stop scaring him away!!" Laughing

Eloping is awesome - I don't regret it for a minute! I didn't wanna spend all that money on ONE day...heck just a few hours...so we used it to go on a nice vacation and put a downpayment on a house.

Thankfully my sister is older and had the wedding, so my mom got to at least see one of her girls walk down the aisle!

We still joke with my fam that we aren't really married, since no one saw us get married... Very Happy

krit-That's awesome. That's exactly how I feel about weddings-save the money for more then just blowing it on one day. Smile

I am all for big weddings if that is your thing..I mean if that is what you really want...go for it..its your cash..

but I agree totally with krit and P-chick..Same here! spent a total of $100 dollars for our wedding day. I looked at it like.."spend all our savings for one day?? or have it for downpayment for a house/emergency/investing"

I think its so funny that so many people put so much emphesis on just one day...they should put that much effort and emphesis on the WHOLE marriage and there wouldnt be so many divorces!

I have seen so many of my clients spend THOUSANDS of dollars on their special day and they don't even get along with their husband..fight/cheat/don't trust.
Jake is my best friend and we just didnt feel like we needed to spend a ton of money to show that to everyone. Every day is a 'special day' to us..cus we MAKE it that way!!! I didnt even want a ring. I wanted a digital video camera!!!

but like I said..if its what you want then thats kool.... I guess you wouldnt mind spending the money...I just personally couldnt fathom it.

then again, I was never one of those little girls who dreamed of her 'princess like wedding day' or 'having babies and being a mommy' I was more like "WHERE IS THAT PILE OF DIRT I CAN RUN MY MOTORCYCLE OVER??" LOL
