| Hey, I want to start learning tantrums but I have a little large fins than I see on other peoples boards. I was wondering if they effect the "surfing up the wake" motion at all?? Thanks in advance |

| Nah it wont effect the sufing up the wake, or the trip flip motion. Its more of the edge of the board. |

freemotionrider, if you feel comfortable landing other tricks with those fins, you are set to go. If you are still not used to hitting the wake with the larger fins, I don't see how you should be trying tantrums now. Anywho, the fins are more noticable while landing, as our board is going to want to continue going in whatever direction the board is already going, and the fins are purely to help the board keep it's direction.
colefooter, the edge of the board shouldn't effect the way you "surf" up the wake. If you are still cutting hard the instance you are going up the face of the wake, you are doing something wrong. The only wake I have seen/done that before is on the newer X-Stars as they do not have a dip before you hit the wake, allowing you to continue cutting hard up the to the face of the wake. As you are going up the face you should begin leaning towards the boat more and more until you finally launch, in which you should be leaning not nearly as far as you were when you were making the cut, and this is where the rocker of your board will come into play, and fins or the "edge of your board" shouldn't have much of an effect. |
