Arizona is having one of the windiest springs/summers i can ever remember, its been nothin but wind for the last 2 months. Whats with that? Are any other parts of the country getting screwed on their riding time because of this?

15mph winds is a calm day in Kansas weather sucks all of our lakes are small and crappy. So be happy at least you have nice lakes to party on when its to windy to board. _________________ Can't board worth a damn, but can drink with the best of them |

Haha...that's funny (well...not for you...sorry). I drove to Kansas once to pick up a car and I noticed:
1. Polite drivers.
2. WIND!
2a. The trees all seemed to grow sideways! |

Windy in So Cal too. This is typically the windy time of year but it seems a bit more than normal. _________________ Join the Surfrider Foundation at www.surfrider.org |

The weather pattern in Annapolis is really astounding. At any given time we decide to lower the boat due to it being glassy smooth-the wind as if acting upon instinct- creates whitecaps until we return from our ride and bring all the stuff back up to the house-then it's glassy again. But apparantly in Florida they have no wind and no other boats on the lakes...ever.....and everyone's a professional wakeboarder. _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

Haha! Try Holland! We also go up early to have some smooooth water... (and getting up is even illegal in Holland, we're not allowed on the water before 8 AM... but the police seems to like us... so far )
In Holland it's almost always windy AND cold here... Only at summertime the temperature is good enough to board without suit and the wind seems to lay down. But than we have the problem of boarding with 7 boats on the same spot of 2 km's... aaaarch! or a lot of swell... what's even worse than just wind.
We tried to live with it and know the good spots now even though the wind tries to keep us from boarding... One profit: your skills and technique will be superb after a couple of days on rough water, when your standing on smooth water you'll proceed enormously! |

hi Jane, idem dito for Belgium, pretty cold when we start in March, lot's of boats when the weather is better.
Last 2 days we went out at 8pm, and still to many people on the water (which means to blurry water...)
Anyway, we learned to live with it. But when I see the glass water on the pics and video's, I wanna move out to the better places!! _________________ * riding finless teaches you to get your edge down properly, when you do it with fins, you'll be able to cut like OJ Simpson

For me the same! Every week we're 'discussing' our move to Florida
We started this season the last week of february... the water was 6 degrees... AAH! But no one else boarding so we had some great weekends all alone! The weekends now we try to start at 7 and because it's illegal it's pretty quit than! |

| Those two posts will make me never complain again about the 2 or 3 chilly months of the year when we have to wear a wetsuit. |
